Hotel Okura Niigata

The hotel is very old.  And room looks likes period era.

Comfortable and nicely hospitable staffs, apart from the location which is on the Bandai bridge on the old town side, around 2km from the train station, all other things are perfect.

Close to the bridge, comfortable room. Daily housekeeping service.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Okura Niigata. The hotel has a classic and elegant atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed from the moment you arrive. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always greeted guests with a warm smile. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. The location is convenient, and the view around the hotel, especially in the evening, is beautiful and peaceful. Although the hotel has a traditional style, it is very well maintained and offers excellent service. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay here again when visiting Niigata. Nice old classic hotel by the river. They use central heating/cooling here so opening a window at night is the only option when the temperature isnt up to your preferred one, which is a painful experience cause you can hear traffic and ambulance all night long. The walls are a little too thin for such classic hotel. The breakfast were good , especially their buffet line. Will visit 1-2 nights max again.

Staff is friendly and the location is convenient. But you can tell the hotel is past its glory days. Everything starts feeling old and the airconditiong doesn’t work that well. Nonetheless a nice place to stay.

I misplaced my gloves some where at a town I was visiting. The hotel staff were very helpful to help me call these places that I visited to check if they can find my gloves. Despite the language barrier, they were very proactive in their assistance and help. I cannot help but feel the famous Japanese hospitality from their services. They have an in house restaurant that served local dishes that you must try in Niigata, their service were also very polite and welcoming. I felt extremely comfortable with my stay in the hotel because of their attention to service.
