Clean hotel with open-air onsen. Breakfast with a great view of the autumn foliage, even spotted monkeys! Enjoyable relaxing stay. Lobby also has free drinking lounge, superb!! 👍🏼😊 Free shuttle service to Tobu-Nikko station.

A nice hotel just by the lake. The onsen had a beautiful momiji tree and the view from the room was pretty good. We enjoyed our food and had a good rest overall.

I read the mixed reviews and was concerned about my choice, particularly those which highlighted some concerns on the service, etc. Generally, it's an acceptable hotel. We met friendly and very helpful foreign staff who were sincere. I think mainly because all the staff has to multi-task from the front desk to meals etc, they may not appear very attentive. But we had a good experience with the foreign staff so far, particularly Adihadara. I am not sure if I spelt his name correctly. I call him "Adi" in short. He was eager to help my husband with our luggage and took note of our preference for a table at the window for our meals. The property does appear aged and some apparent wear and tear but their effort to maintain it at this level of general acceptable look and feel is commendable. At the end of our two nights stay, we did have an enjoyable time to chill and relax at the hotel.

Soaking in the hot spring felt like being immersed in a forest.

Good services and facility.

The hotel is located on top of the hill, is not very convenient to get there. The shuttle bus from Nikko station is fully booked even we tried to book 1 day in advance as recommended on their website which only written in Japanese. There is no shuttle provided to pick up from the hotel bus stop. With luggage it’s definitely more than 7min up hill walk. The room we book comes with an open air bath, but was informed that the open air bath in room cannot be use during winter due to frozen pipe condition. The food is mediocre, nothing special.

We used this as a simplified version of our honeymoon. We were able to relax in a calm atmosphere. We thought it was a little pricey since we were staying over a long weekend, but we were very satisfied with the quality of the hot spring water.

The room was better than I expected. I heard it's a historic hotel, so it must have been renovated; it looked quite new. I stayed on the first floor, and the open-air bath was so beautiful—you could step right outside!

It was my first time using it and overall it was good, but a little old.

Being by the lake, the night sky was filled with stars, and I even saw deer in the middle of the night – it was truly beautiful. However, there were some major drawbacks. For example, both breakfast and dinner were terrible, and there weren't many restaurants nearby unless you drove uphill for at least an hour and a half round trip. Dinner during the day was simply awful… Also, the kitchen only provides cleaning once for guests staying for four days. That's one thing, but for some reason, someone gave me new towels and trash bags, and then left the old ones by the door all night without taking them away.

It was a wonderful stay, comfortable and enjoyable. Especially after checking out the next day, the hotel driver 🚗 had already finished work! He still provided us with a free, dedicated service. He dropped us off at the final stop, his final courtesy and smile capping off our time together. It was wonderful 👌🏻! Best wishes to everyone!

It was more than enough for me! Natural hot springs in the middle of nature are the best. I'd like to use them again.

I stayed here for my birthday. The best thing about it was that there was a bath in the room. I also went to the large public bath, but it was empty, probably because everyone else was using the baths in their rooms. Being able to use the ReFa hair dryer was also a nice touch. I had asked for a celebratory plate to be served with the meal, but they forgot to bring it out, so if you're planning a surprise, it's a good idea to double-check in advance.
