It was pretty average. The sushi in the restaurant is, by Japanese standards, subpar at best. Breakfast wasn't very substantial either. All in all, it's not worth the price. Next winter season, I'll try staying at the Park Hyatt to see how that compares.

The hotel boasts an elegant environment, and the check-in process was handled with exceptional care and thoughtfulness. We were even given a complimentary room upgrade! The hotel's public hot springs are absolutely beautiful, perfect for a clean and comfortable soak after a day of skiing.

I really want to speak up for the Ritz! Don't blindly trust negative reviews online; experiencing it yourself is the most authentic way to judge. The environment is absolutely stunning, every corner is picture-perfect! The toiletries are also thoughtful and excellent. All the staff, especially the Chinese-speaking young lady at the front desk, were incredibly warm, humble, and polite! As part of the EDITION series and being in Hokkaido, the hotel is incredibly meticulous. Not only does it have many fantastic restaurants, but there's also a beautiful little town next door with cheap and delicious food! You'll find everything you need for dining, shopping, and sightseeing. Thank you, Ritz, for making our vacation so warm and comfortable!

## The Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Niseko | Summer Solitude, Mountain Breezes & Rejuvenation My first visit to Niseko instantly charmed me with its summer appeal – uncrowded and picturesque, with refreshing breezes. It's the perfect escape from the summer heat, offering exceptional value for money and making it an ideal choice for a secluded getaway. The hotel boasts a minimalist yet refined decor, perfectly blending the sophistication of a high-end urban hotel with the serene ambiance of the natural mountain surroundings. Attention to detail is impeccable, and the service team is exceptionally thoughtful and meticulous, making guests feel completely at ease. Regarding dining, breakfast offers a delightful combination of à la carte and buffet options, with an extensive and nutritious selection. For dinner, I'd suggest exploring nearby restaurants for better value and variety. Its location is truly a 'hidden gem' – secluded yet convenient. It's just a few minutes' walk to the ski village's commercial area, which even in summer has a pleasant buzz. For those driving, it offers privacy and convenience. Guests without a car can easily connect via the Hilton hotel next to the ski slope, ensuring clear and efficient transportation. Niseko, beautiful year-round, truly transforms into a ski paradise in winter. The hotel's exclusive gondola serves as a 'private access lane,' offering genuine ski-in/ski-out convenience. Paired with a master-designed night illumination show, it adds a romantic touch to the snowy evenings. Compared to other popular ski resorts, this area feels more tranquil and private, making it especially ideal for families or discerning travelers seeking a premium experience. Undoubtedly, the standout features are the exclusive ski-in/ski-out gondola and the resort's appealing atmosphere, perfect for both summer and winter. The off-peak season, priced at nearly half of peak season rates, offers outstanding value. It's highly recommended for guests who value tranquility and appreciate meticulous service – whether it's a summer escape from the heat or a winter ski adventure, guests will find a double delight of comfort and serenity here.

Our two-night stay included half board, featuring one Japanese-style dinner and one Western-style dinner. We upgraded to the venison steak for the Western meal, and it was incredibly lean yet tender, and absolutely delicious without feeling heavy. We also hiked to Shinsennuma and stopped by Iwanai on our way. This hotel is highly recommended and truly lives up to The Ritz-Carlton Reserve's reputation. The onsen was excellent as well, making for a truly perfect stay.

Niseko in summer has its own distinct advantages. It's less crowded, the air is fresh and cool, and hotel rates are significantly lower. The hotel's decor is tasteful and understated, reminiscent of a city Ritz-Carlton. With fewer rooms, the service is remarkably attentive. Breakfast is a hybrid of a set menu and a small buffet spread, which was quite satisfying. We found the dinner restaurant to have a somewhat limited kitchen and offer average value for money, so we chose to dine out for our evening meals. The location is wonderfully quiet. While we had a private car, even without one, the Hilton is just across the ski slope, so transport isn't an issue. A short walk of a few minutes takes you to a ski commercial area, where a few restaurants remain open even in summer. I imagine it's quite expensive in winter, but I do wonder if Niseko's skiing truly surpasses Hemu's? A major perk, of course, is that the hotel essentially has its own dedicated ski lift, offering absolute ski-in/ski-out convenience. It's significantly smaller, quieter, and much less crowded than the Park Hyatt. However, I highly recommend taking the gondola up there at night and then walking down to experience the beautifully designed light exhibition – it's truly stunning.

Absolutely perfect!! Not only is it beautiful, but the service was truly the best I've ever experienced at any hotel. As honeymooners, we felt incredibly comfortable and well taken care of. Every single staff member provided impeccable service. This is hands down the best hotel in Hokkaido, a definite must-stay!
