The staff were great as was the food. The room was very small and one of you had to sit down while the other person was moving about.

We stayed for two nights.We had dinner and drinks first night,all good.Room was compact but clean and bathroom was modern and fairly new.Our room was to the side and had a draughty window and traffic noise was loud early morning ,could even hear vehicles clanking over a loose manhole cover.Breakfast was cooked to order and was lovely.We chose the Throckmorton for location and price which wad good value .

The food was reasonably priced but of excellent quality. The price of the room was also reasonable and the room was of excellent quality. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. We stayed one night and could not have had better service. Well done all the staff of the Throckmorten.

First time here. Very good: friendly staff, comfortable room with a great shower. We couldn't try the restaurant for dinner, but the breakfast was well cooked with plenty of options. First cup of coffee was too weak, but second one greatly improved on request. Well-kept Wye Valley and Purity ales well worth exploring!

The hotel room was great, especially the bed size. It was very clean and tidy and overall great. The only couple of slight issues was that there was no mini fridge, which I sort of understand, since they obviously want you to use their facilities, but it would have been very useful. The second point was because the hotel is next to a fairly busy road, I found that traffic noise woke me in the early morning (I am a light sleeper). Windows are only single glazed, not sure why secondary glazing has not been installed, although I appreciate it is an old building. These items did not detract from the overall great stay though.
We also ate in the restaurant and the food is great.

The Throckmorton is a very pleasant place to stay, all the services are of a good standard: warm welcome, specific request accepted, very good full breakfast, the best we have had after 6 hotels in England... and a good price.
