Rooms are small, basic and very dated - everywhere is in need of major update and renovation - this is a beautiful building that has been allowed to decay which is such a shame - it could be a gem in Worcestershire if the owners showed it some love and attention.

Stayed while on a course in Worcester - arrived while there was clearly a large party occurring. Nobody at reception, rang the numbers on the sign and no answer. Eventually somebody came to check me in. My room was dated, smelled musty and had mould in the bathroom and the vents were caked in dust. There was little to no hot water and the bathroom was dated. We went to the restaurant, which had no customers except us. I got a diet coke, which was flat and tasted of chemicals. The menu itself was limited, and the paper covered in stains and we didn't feel comfortable eating there so left to eat at another restaurant. Myself and a colleague decided to leave and stay in a Holiday Inn nearby - all we wanted was a good bed and a hot shower. To top it off, the fire alarm went off twice and there was multiple cars revving loudly in the car park. Children were running around shouting outside our rooms and it seemed like there was no respect for paying guests. To charge £100 for a room that is so scruffy is shocking - the furniture is uncomfortable and dated, the rooms are dirty and the hotel is unwelcoming. We would have mentioned our complaints to the staff but there was nobody to be seen, except groups of males sat in the lobby. Wouldn't waste your money when there's plenty of nicer hotels nearby!

We stayed a night here in July. The facilities in the room would have been fine had they been properly maintenance and cleaned. The bathroom was dirty - the toilet clearly hadn't been cleaned as faeces was stuck to the bowl. And the toilet lid wasn't attached so when we lifted the lid it fell came off onto the floor. The bathroom floor hadn't been properly swept or cleaned - the body hair of previous visitors clearly seen on the floor. I was looking forward to a cup of tea during the evening of my stay but as I picked up the first mug there was clearly breadcrumbs and lint on the inside of the mug. So I picked up the second mug and it looked clean but upon smelling it I realised it wasn't properly clean - it smelt of spoilt milk! The kettle too could do with a clean and descaling. The bedding with clean and fresh at least and we slept soundly with no disturbances. Our room was a nice size and looked out over some nice green surroundings. Breakfast was lovely!

Sadly would not return. Certain members of staff were either rude or very unapproachable. A real shame for the few that were amazing. The room we stayed in was very small and basic. Could not fit a wardrobe in and only had a very small rod to hang our clothes on. The bed was also very small, too little for 2 adults to sleep in. The bathroom/shower was tiny. Very disappointed with changes made after spending such a huge amount of money. Beautiful location but would not recommend here at all. A very expensive venue. What a disappointment.

From the outside, the hotel looks like a beautiful country hotel… But, as soon as you walk in, it’s like stepping back in time! The whole hotel is dated, cold, old and very tired. No warmth about the place, no one on reception and had to wait ages for someone to appear. Very understaffed for such a big hotel. Once in the room (222), well where do I start! Honestly I wouldn’t bath my dog in that bath! It was disgusting, plug didn’t fit the bath, it was very old, stained, missing a handle, no water pressure and no hot water!? Pressure was a trickle…just enough to clean your teeth! The push button on the toilet was broken, there were cigarette stains and mirror was falling to pieces and the hook on the door had been snapped off (or just fell off?!) In the room itself the wardrobe and desk was falling to bits, it was pretty unbelievable! The plug sockets had been update with usb chargers, but they hadn’t finished the job…filler all crumbling around and not painted! How do you leave that unfinished and think it’s ok to charge people to stay in the room? Then the bed…well it was like sleeping on a hard stack of pancakes! It was layered with 3 types of mattresses… I pulled if the sheet to see why it was so uncomfortable and there was a cheap mattress, then some kind of unzipped foam cover and then a mattress topper that was far too small for the bed and must have been used for a long time, as the middle was so flat and hard. I have never seen anything quite like it?! How on earth is this acceptable? They gave me 50% off the room. But to be ho eat that was still too much to pay for the room. It should be closed until updated. I am so disappointed, I don’t get to have a night away very often as a busy Mum, so was so looking forward to a soak in a bath after a long day of training and driving. There was no availability in the restaurant to eat that evening and I was only told that on arrival. The breakfast was ok, but coffee awful & I don’t think the sausage was cooked through…didn’t risk it! And doors slamming all night, loud voices from a Wedding at 1am… just awful. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

My sister and I stayed for one night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and had the basic furniture., but did need updating. There was no hairdryer, but we knew that and took our own. The mirror was free standing on a cupboard which we were able to move near a plug to do our hair. Breakfast was lovely and plenty to choose from. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.

Had a lovely overnight stay, clean but dated room, shower very out dated and shower screen needed replacing. Beautiful English breakfast with continental choices also available. However I was upset that there was no disabled access up to the room where the wedding ceremony was held, when asked if they had a lift they said no. So with the help of 3 friends my 83 year old mum had to stagger up 2 flights of stairs and down again after the ceremony. We did spot a lift underneath the ceremony room whilst having the reception, did this lift work? So my advice is if your planning to visit with someone who requires disabled access check about the lift first.

We needed somewhere on route for an overnight stay close to m5 and this was perfect. A very big car park and lovely reception area and we were sorted straight away. Room was very big with seating area. Bar had lovely outdoor seating area too.

Had our wedding at the Pear Tree yesterday, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. Donna was so lovely and helpful when it came to organising the day, taking so much of the stress and hassle away from us. The day itself flowed brilliantly, the food was absolutely exquisite, the Bartlett Suite was beautifully laid out and decorated and the hotel rooms were very nice. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Every single one of our guests have told us how much of a fantastic and fun day it was, and that the venue has played a huge part in that. We would definitely recommend the Pear Tree to anyone who is thinking of holding a wedding or other event there.
