I often use Premier Inn hotels, but the 3 night stay I've just had stay at Norwich Duke Street didn't come up to my expectations. Our room was far too warm, even with the window open and the provided pedestal fan running constantly. I mentioned this to the chap in reception when checking out this morning and I was told that this is known problem with the building which customers frequently complain about, even in the winter. He went on to say that the they put portable air conditioners in the premier plus rooms and suggested that next time I book one of these. I don't think this is an acceptable answer. Why should I have to pay extra to be comfortable when there is a known issue with the temperature of the rooms?

Well what can I say..stayed here for a night with a friend as we were attending a musical show at the the theatre. The hotel is in a extremely good central location to the city centre. Our original room had mould and cobwebs around the window seal(we only noticed this when opened thw window for some fresh air. We immediately mentioned this to the front of house staff (receptionist) who was only too happy to agree for us to have a free room upgrade and also offered us a free breakfast for the following day. We also had a meal at the restaurnt which we felt was very good value for money and also a good selection of itmes on the menu. The customer service we recieved was second to none (by one lone member of staff, didnt catch the mans name) nothing was too much trouble at all consideringhe was the only member of staff on shift so was obviously mutli-tasking. Our room upgrade was very clean, comfortable bed and the breakfast was of good quality and also a good variety. I must especially mention Laura who was very informative of the local area and very attentive. Will definitely visit again , well done.

Stayed here to go on steam train trip .sundown festival on so hotel full and unable to offer upgrade.still got a pitch side room platinumihg membercharming helpful staff unable to give 5 stars as did not have any meals.also when we last stayed here 15 years ago I noted a design fault in the bathroom the soap and shampoo dispensers are very high on the wall for the shower and people using bath cannot reach them without standing and have no separate soap.this increases risk of slipping however this is still a nice hotel with easy access to the railway station.I think this is now the nicest of Kew greens holiday inns in Norwich

The hotel is in a excellent position for the train station but a good 20 minute walk from the city centre, and on a hill, so if you have mobility issues you would need to order a taxi. We received an instant, free upgrade on arrival which was lovely. However, we were very disappointed with the breakfast. I am vegetarian but my friend is not, but the hotel did not tell us that the entire restaurant is vegan. We paid £10 for a full breakfast which consisted of 2 vegan sausages, a small bowl of cheap baked beans, a very spicy samosa, mushrooms and a diced tomato and avocado salad. We asked for tea which came in a tall, glass cup but with no teaspoons. I asked for 2 vegan bacon rashers which were very over-cooked. There was no salt or pepper available on the tables. On a small dresser in the restaurant was the supposed 'continental' breakfast selection which was absolutely disgraceful, at the same cost of £10 - there was one slice of stale bread in the bottom of the plastic bag, 4 bananas that were so overripe they collapsed when touched, two mini boxes of cereals and a jar of marmite! Service was minimal and at the desk they tried to charge us £12! It was such a shame as the hotel is clean and the room came with a good selection of tea and coffee, fruit juices and water, as well as cereal bars. Had we been told that the restaurant was fully vegan, we would have chosen to had breakfast elsewhere as my friend doesn't like vegan food.

Noise from street outside window until 3.30am, shortly followed by traffic noise, so we got very little sleep! Our 'Heritage' room had neither beams nor a fireplace (as described on website) and was small and awkwardly shaped, with much of the room being taken up by a freestanding bathtub so that the wardrobe was crammed against a wall on the opposite side. The room was unwelcoming to say the least. When we mentioned the street noise on checking out, we were told to ask for a quiet room next time.....there will not be a next time. We booked directly with the hotel and were not told anything about street noise. A fridge with a loud hum was placed on top of a small table next to the wardrobe. Breakfast was adequate but poached eggs were hard. Not a wonderful experience.

A potentially lovely little serviced accommodation. Superficially tidy but everything a bit tired and grubby. No hairdryer, stale refillable bottles of toiletries, crusty bits around the taps etc. It is so close to being gorgeous; it just needs a bit of love! The noise from the pub over the road was pretty bad but that’s to be expected during graduation weekend. The concierge at the desk was very pleasant and I feel bad giving this review but it is honest.
