Safaya Luxury Villas - Adults Only

We had a wonderful stay overall. The location was beautiful, the kitchen and bar staff were exceptionally kind, and the food was delicious. We also experienced an unexpected emergency during our stay, and one staff member went above and beyond to help us resolve it. His service truly exceeded our expectations, and we are deeply grateful for his kindness and attentiveness. I regret that I did not ask his name… thank you so much! To help improve the service and guest satisfaction, we would like to offer some constructive suggestions. 1. Security & Beach Area Management We fully understand that the beach is public and should be a comfortable space for everyone—villa owners, staff, guests, and locals. However, a couple of incidents made us feel slightly uneasy. For instance, we observed a local fisherman repairing a boat motor on one of the sun loungers. I did not feel comfortable lying down to relax nearby. Later, when other tourists who were just passing by tried to use the swing, the security staff immediately asked them not to. Perhaps it would be more effective if the staff could politely inform them that the swing and sun loungers are reserved for villa guests. As an alternative, they could be encouraged to visit the villa's bar or restaurant, or even invited to consider staying with you in the future. The manner in which these situations were handled made us feel a bit uncomfortable and detracted from our enjoyment of the otherwise beautiful beach. 2. Terrace Maintenance The wooden terrace appears to need some repair. There was a ant nest and their bites were quite painful. We enjoyed observing ants behavior..but I highly recommend addressing this issue promptly for the comfort and safety of future guests. 3. Check-in Service & Communication To make all guests feel immediately welcome, we suggest a small but meaningful improvement to the check-in process. We felt it would be better for staff to consistently use a universal greeting in either Swahili or English if they do not know the guest's native language. I felt a little uncomfortable when greeted in an unfamiliar language. Especially after dealing with persistent guides and street vendors, I did not expect to face a similar situation at my accommodation. In today's interconnected world, it is difficult to accurately guess a person's background from their appearance. Assuming a guest's nationality or language based on how they look can sometimes lead to unintended discomfort, given the complex political, geographical, and historical relationships between some nations and regions. A neutral and professional greeting would help ensure every guest feels respected and welcomed from the very first moment.

Excellent place, super friednly staff, the beach is beautiful, the food is great. Can't really complain about anything during our stay. If you're looking for a place to chill and relax and enjoy Zanzibar this is the one.

Our time at Safaya Luxury Villas was the best trip I’ve had in my life. The villas were aesthetically pleasing, very clean, and private. We had a garden villa with only a 2 minute walk to the beach (if that). The beach in front of the villa was never crowded. The villas have security there as well. The food was AMAZING (breakfast and dinner were included in our stay) and the staff was so friendly and always checked on us (even coming to see if we needed any food or drinks while we were on the beach). The events (movie nights and beach dinners, even complimentary foot massages one day) were so amazing. We dream of going back one day.

I stayed at Safaya Villas in Nungwi during a solo trip to Zanzibar, and honestly… it was everything I didn’t know I needed. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at ease. The location is perfect — right on the beach, quiet and peaceful, yet just a short walk to everything I wanted to explore. I came to Zanzibar mainly for horseback riding, and being able to walk to the stables, local spots, and beach cafés made it all so easy and enjoyable. But what really made Safaya special was the connection I felt with the place and the people. The staff were kind, warm, and genuinely cared about how I was doing — not in a scripted way, but in that real, human way that’s hard to come by. I often had chats with them throughout the day, and it started feeling more like staying with friends than in a hotel. The Chef went above and beyond, always asking about my preferences and preparing delicious meals tailored just for me. It felt like staying with friends who happened to be amazing hosts. If you’re looking for a place that feels both luxurious and personal, this is it. I left feeling relaxed, inspired, and already dreaming of coming back. Safaya Villas is a gem — I’ll definitely return.

What an incredible and welcoming staff! The rooms were gorgeous and comfortable, the private pool was the cherry on top. I would definitely stay here again
