Took my mum for afternoon tea. All staff were so nice and helpful. We shared one afternoon tea plus another cup of tea as my mum spent eat too much. My mum had a great time. Will visit again. Special thanks to the waiter “driss laroussi who made my mum feel special.

The surroundings were beautiful making for some lovely walks but the staff were exemplary; every single one always had a smile and was incredibly hospitable, always checking to see if there was anything I needed. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them and it made my solo brainstorming retreat an absolute pleasure. The food was great and my room was also nice and spacious and I am looking forward to coming back!

The hotel and gardens are what this hotel has going for it. The staff have been trained well, are polite, courteous and at most efficient. What they are missing is a natural friendliness. Your credit card will be charged with £50, if you don't use the amount it will be refunded back to your card. Check in and checking out was fine, but it wasn't busy, disable bays are in the car park and no wider than the normal parking bays. The disable bays need to be allocated to the front of the hotel, so it is a shorter walk. The bedroom was small, dark and overlooked the front entrance, the bathroom was poorly lit and shaving mirror far too high for someone who is short. The same as the towel rail over the bath where the non slip mat is, so not accessible to a shorter person. I notice that a review two years ago this was brought up by another guest and she was told that it would be brought up in a meeting, obviously they didn't do anything about it. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, the air con was blowing the menu off the table, so we asked for the fan to be turned down, this did happen and it was a much more pleasant experience. The meal was lovely, but desserts are way over price for what they were and mine looked lost on the plate. Breakfast is self serve for cereals, but orders taken for cooked. We sat for a good five minutes from being seated waiting for someone to take the drinks order. No one did, so we got up for the cold buffet, when we get someone to take our cooked breakfast order we had to call him back to ask if we could get a pot of tea. Normally this is the first thing they ask as you are seated. We checked out the next day and sat outside with a drink. We decided as it was nice to have lunch before we left for home. Three times we asked for the menu, first time we got I'll bring it out, second time, you have to move to the table outside the restaurant, which we would have done, third time got a short abrupt it's roast dinner, then ignored again. It would have been so much more customer friendly if you were busy if you just said, sorry we cannot accommodate you if you haven't booked. In the end we google local pubs and booked a table with one of them. The outside area is lovely on a sunny day, but lacks any comfortable seating area, the wooden chairs could do with cushions, to make guest linger and spend in the bar. As it was a family get together, the company more than made up for the ******* that arose during our stay. This hotel could be a lovely relaxing hotel and deliver a much more friendly atmosphere.

We held a Business Clay Pigeon shoot event for 21 people at the hotel and the event was first class with great instructors. We then had lunch in the hotel which was top class. The service at all times prior to the event and on the day of the event was first class and we will definitely run an event like this again and would highly recommend

Credit where credit is due to Oakley Hall...what a fabulous, person centred establishment! Though we do not live a million miles away, we have not had the privilege of visiting Oakley Hall. Upon arrival we were instantly overwhelmed by the beauty of the hotel, surrounded by magnificent and peaceful surroundings. From the moment we arrived, until we left, all staff were friendly, professional and extremely helpful...and happy! Reception staff through to the breakfast staff exhibited first class customer service (not often seen these days). The staff looking after us at the wedding and throughout the day were a complete and utter credit to Oakley Hall. The day ran so smoothly; nothing was too much trouble - and very refreshing to see the bar staff jigging along to the music provided by the 'Singing Waiters'!! Congratulations to whoever was coordinating and in charge of the wedding...a superb, exceptional job! As a side note, our room was fantastic, comfortable and clean along with the rest of the hotel. We also felt that whilst the hotel is obviously of a very high standard, the atmosphere was very relaxed, welcoming and not at all 'stuffy' - quite a unique combination... Finally, we hope to visit again very soon - will keep an eye on their events. We would not hesitate to recommend Oakley Hall to anyone who may be planning a wedding, or just fancy a stay in a lovely hotel.

Spent an overnight stay at Oakley Hall and would highly recommend it. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and well worth a visit. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful (both checking in and checking out). Stayed in one of the Courtyard Rooms - perfectly fine and pleasant room. Had a couple of drinks in the Bar and staff were so helpful and friendly (even bought a preferred lager from the other bar!), followed by dinner in the Glasshouse restaurant. Staff were super and food really good.

Wonderful stay in this fabulous hotel! Set in stunning grounds with an amazing and extensive Kitchen Garden. Delicious meal too at the Glasshouse Restaurant. Front of house and restaurant staff were lovely. Particularly commend Joel and Jasemin.

I really can’t find any issues with this hotel. The staff on check-in were very friendly and helpful. The room was great with a lovely view of the grounds. The food in the restaurant was very tasty and the staff there (and in the lounge) were attentive and friendly. As it was our anniversary, we were made to feel very special by the hotel, so a big thanks. Oh and the breakfast was fantastic! Can’t recommend enough.

Our one-night stay at Oakley Hall Hotel was a disappointment. It would have been delightful if we had been able to see the lovely parkland grounds from our room. However, Room 21 overlooks a small dark courtyard, and to disguise this the windows had voile curtains, plantation shutters and curtains, virtually blocking out all natural light. Even with the overhead lights on it was so gloomy I could not see my black socks in the bottom of my suitcase! The additional issue was a problem with the hotel’s boiler, so we had no hot water and were therefore unable to bath or shower either on the evening of our arrival or the next morning. Incidentally, having un-knowingly run cold water into the bath, the plug was then stuck so the water would not drain away. The maintenance man promised for the next morning failed to arrive. (In the event, this was not a problem as we still couldn’t have bathed as still no hot water!!) There was a dreadful lack of communication. Having raised these issues with the reception desk, and being told they were ‘being sorted’ it took two more visits to reception, over the course of nearly an hour, to discover they were not able to sort the problem! A phone call to the room to update us would have been appreciated. Similarly, when checking out, I acknowledged the hotel common areas were lovely; the breakfast good; and the grounds lovely - but that I was very disappointed by the room and certainly by the lack of hot water – not what one would expect for a room charged at over £200 per night! I was told they had my email address and the general manager would most certainly be in touch, I have waited for over 48 hours before posting this review – but am posting it because I have heard nothing! No apology and no offer of recompense. This should have been an absolutely delightful overnight stay – but a dark room with no view and NO HOT WATER is certainly not worth over £200 per night!!
