Quinta do Chocalhinho Agroturismo & Spa

Beautiful place with space for walking in trails and with a sweet donkey that lives to be pet. Room was very nice and clean, the pool was great and the surroundings very relaxing and pleasant. Breakfast was delicious! We really enjoyed our one night stay during our road trip,perfect for some rest before getting back on the road.

Beautiful traditional attitudinal with a heated pool, lovely staff and comfortable rooms. It feels and looks like how you imagine Portugal would be in your dreams. Donkeys, dogs and ducks walk gently around the complex of rooms and bungalows. Breakfast is a colourful riot of everything you might want with super fresh golden eggs from their own chickens. It is close to many walking trails and an hour and a half from Faro. I was at a gamesmanship week at the Sundance Ranch ten minutes drive away. Also a wonderful place with amazing equine and human tutors.

When planning our walk on the Rota Vicentina, we weren't sure the extra distance to reach Quinta Chocalhino (Cowbell Farm!) from Odemira would be worth it but it was and Teresa made sure we didn't have to walk any farther than Odemira. Our stay at this family-run agriturismo was lovely: our room was incredibly comfortable and breakfast was perfectly suited to our tastes and dietary restrictions (one of us is a gluten-free vegetarian). We didn't have much energy to explore the grounds (or try the pool) during our one-night stay but we loved that there were donkeys, geese/ducks, turkeys, dogs, and cats staying on the farm with us. We got rained on during our day's walk to Odemira and were pleasantly surprised to find a clothes rack and dehumidifier in our room for drying out our wet gear. Teresa also lit a fire in the Great Room for us and we relaxed after dinner in front of the fireplace with our books and delicious red wine from the Alentejo region. We left the next morning rejeuvenated and ready to tackle our next stage to Sao Teotonio!

Superb location. Tranquil well run and lovely hosts. Only let down by the rather cluttered and somewhat disorganised reception area. The rest was really lovely. Highly recommended.

Would highly recommend! Friendly hosts and staff. We enjoyed breakfast in common room with other guests. Felt like family. Location is excellent as a hub to visit the region. So many beaches around but a nice swimming pool back at hotel.

Perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Extremely kind and attentive staff. Excellent place for children - lots of space, donkey rides, swimming pool. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Great breakfast. Convenient location to enjoy the cost as well. Can only recommend!

We had such an amazing stay amidst wonderful nature, wildlife and marvellous accommodation. Teressa and Antonio were superb hosts and awesomely helpful and attentive. As we’re all the staff. The jacuzzi, steam room and sauna are a must. Especially after a long weeks walk-in in the Western Algarve. Stay a few nights (as many as you can!!) - not just one!! Thanks
