Unique property with lovely view from the main reception/dining area. Dinner was good, not great in the casual dining area, not the Michelin rated restaurant which we did not try. Waiter was very friendly. Check in was relaxed and easy. Prosecco was served with a nice view which was nice after a long trip from New York. Other staff was helpful, some friendlier than others but all professional. The room was perhaps the smallest type on property but comfortable. The shower was a bit difficult to get to the right temperature but otherwise ok, not exactly 5 star but everything else was close to if not 5 star. No reason not to return if we make it back to the area but I would probably reserve a deluxe room with a king bed next time. I thought I did but apparently I did not.

Our recent stay at Petra Segreta was nothing short of magical. The hotel surpassed all our expectations, offering a stay that was nothing short of perfection. The attentive and friendly hotel team truly made our experience unforgettable. Their warm hospitality and eagerness to cater to our every need made us feel incredibly valued. A special shoutout to the Spa Manager and therapist, Rosalia, whose expertise and care left us feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. The culinary delights at Petra Segreta were a highlight of our stay. Every meal was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with flavors and made from the freshest ingredients. The attention to detail in every dish was remarkable, and we savored every bite. The ambiance of the hotel was incredibly romantic and peaceful, providing the ideal backdrop for a relaxing getaway. Petra Segreta offers an amazing experience of luxury, comfort, and tranquility. Our stay here will be a cherished memory, and we can't wait to return to this hidden gem.

My husband and I stayed at the resort for a week. It is a magical place and the views are jaw dropping. I would like to highlight the following staff members: Franco is knowledgeable and passionate about Sardinian history and culture. We took his recommendations and they did not disappoint. Barbara went beyond her call of duty to help us with an issue unrelated to the resort. Rosalia gave us the best massages, especially the face massage, my skin still looks great. She is knowledgeable and passionate about her craft and exudes positive energy. Paulo took us on a boat excursion on Ginger II and it was an experience that we’ll never forget. He is friendly and lots of fun.

I am writing directly to you as I felt it very important to share our recent experience at one of the Relais and Chateaux/Michelin guide hotel resorts. It is with sadness that I find myself writing to you but do it in the hope that this is seen as constructive criticism to improve what is on offer in that establishment. “Apathetic desire for attention to detail. Style over substance!” I acknowledge that what is written is a personal account based on personal observations and experiences. I felt it important to share them given that the hotel holds itself in such a prestigious position of being categorised as a five star hotel and worthy of inclusion in the Michelin guide. I have never stayed in a resort quite like this. Sadly though not for particularly positive comments or critique. 5 night stay in a Sardinian hilltop hamlet - 27 rooms including 3 suites. Idyllic spot, perfect sunsets, stunning views surrounding with the backdrop of vivid mountains. Very close to San Pantaleo, a really beautiful, buzzing little village. A 6 min car journey and 35 minute walk. We enjoyed several evenings at the bars and restaurants here. Arrival Reception staff provided us with a pleasant enough welcome on arrival. Porter attended to luggage and placed in the room. We were offered a small glass of Prosecco, which was much appreciated. We were shown to our room, glancing over the pool area and breakfast room Evening meal on the terraza Concept of sharing starters/main course only option. Food nice, but little for the vegetarian palate, leaving one guest satisfied and one underwhelmed. An elevated price overall , but not unexpected. Eye watering and expensive wine. I am a seasoned traveller and experienced restaurant hotel guest. Yet the mark up on the wines was extraordinary. Breakfast Average at best. Constantly having to ask for glasses, orange juice, fresh fruit. On one morning it was even questioned as to why I wished for more white bread. The replacement of these items are basic and fundamental to any breakfast service, let alone in a five star resort. It shouldn’t ever require guests to advise what needed replacing. Why would you not use the outside tables and make the most of the wonderful views in favour of the offer of inside tables and patio doors closed over?! I have considered this over and over and cannot come up with a fathomable excuse. Especially given they were unable to accommodate all guests arriving on our last day due to everyone arriving at a similar time. As such pushing them into a so called overflow area in the daytime restaurant. How to make guests feel unwelcome. Italian guest on phone at breakfast was simply rude. Clearly lacking in manners and etiquette himself. It would be courteous to other guests if a blanket rule of no phones was applied to the restaurant areas. It is a private and tranquil space, guests enjoying their holidays. We should not be subjected to hearing the trivialities of others. Room Welcoming lett

Very disappointing stay. No 5 star facility and very inattentive service particularly in the restaurant area. Not recommended.

Sardinia is a beautiful Island and the resort fits right in, but....Service was so so (spend 16 K for two rooms and stayed 6 nights). Sauna / steam room was out of service, front desk was not as professional as what we are used to. Not once did someone from management check in with us. No trip ideas received, no activity / program at the resort during the entire stay. No signs within the resort, not walkable for elderly people. Restaurant set up is very confusing. We had dinner in one of their restaurants on our first night, all nice and fairly priced. 3 days later we sat down at the exact same table and the menu from 3 days prior was not available that evening. We had to order a tasting menu per person, not what we wanted. Breakfast buffet was the same every day, no juice or omelet bar, very simple, too simple for what they are charging. We paid cash for lunch one day and the server came running after us to sign the bill... we said, why? The very same amount was on our final bill! Our check out was early (6 am) and we only had a chance to speak to the security guard. He was not allowed to change the bill unless we wrote a written explanation of what happened. He said, if he waves the overcharge he might have to end up paying it. We went to Florence afterwards and stayed at a 4 star hotel (Brunelleschi - can only recommend) and the service was the opposite. The stars should have been reversed between the two places, seriously. Not worth 16 K, maybe half at most.

We were disappointed with this hotel. The standard room was ok but not really the standard we expected from a 5 star hotel at this price (the shower leaked everywhere and was above the bath. But the service was terrible. We came back from a night out with a group of friends at approx 2am and requested night cap drinks outside on the terrace. We were told we couldn't have any. The mini bars barely contained anything so this couldn't help us out. One evening, I came back from the beach at 8pm and requested a pasta dish for supper (our friends had eaten on the beach) and I was told I had to eat it in the restaurant and couldn't just take it to the terrace to eat it while my friends had drinks outside. At the pool, towels were not offered out - you had to go and seek them out at reception and there no pool service (ie no one every asked whether I'd like a drink by the pool) and food was not allowed by the pool. Strange for a 5 star hotel. On arrival, I had to pull my bags up a steep hill as noone came to greet me (even though we'd announced our arrival at the main gate). All in all, they were not terribly friendly and certainly weren't very helpful or obliging. I would not recommend this hotel to others, especially as this price.
