We’ve stayed at Rosen Inn at Pointe six times over the years, but unfortunately this latest stay will be our last.
One of the biggest disappointments was the change to housekeeping. On every previous visit, our room was serviced daily, but this time we discovered housekeeping now only comes every four days. This wasn’t made clear when booking and was a significant downgrade in service.
Before we arrived, I messaged the hotel to ask about a late check-out and was told we could arrange and pay for it on arrival. However, when we asked at the front desk, we were given completely different information and told it was first come, first served and that we had to call at 6am on the day. The inconsistent communication was very frustrating.
The room itself also had issues. The road noise was extremely loud throughout our stay, and the groundskeeping staff were using leaf blowers from around 4am, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep.
To make matters worse, during the last few days of our stay, housekeeping knocked on our door every 20 minutes asking if we’d left the room yet, even after we’d asked them to come back later. It became quite intrusive and made it difficult to relax.
The bathroom was also disappointing. It looked as though the bath had been painted, and when I showered, the coating peeled away and stuck to the bottom of my feet, leaving white flakes of paint all over them.
It’s a real shame because we’ve always enjoyed staying here in the past, but the decline in service, maintenance, and overall guest experience means we won’t be returning.
