Gran Tubla Apartments Dolomites

A neatly tucked jewel in a beautiful location. A modern well designed and maintained self catering apartment that we can’t recommend highly enough. Carmen and her staff are very warm and welcoming hosts-no wonder this location is so much in demand. Would definitely love to visit again! Positives plenty-including: A fresh supply of artisan bread and coffee pods every morning. A complementary free bus ticket to and from the town during the entire period of stay. An indoor swimming pool and an outdoor jacuzzi both helped us soak in after the long hikes. The only downside was that the apartment lacks an aircon but the table fans provided and having open doors/windows helped cooled the rooms down considerably. area.

We stayed at Gran Tubla in Ortisei, Dolomites for our December winter ski holiday. Initially, we were a bit dissapointed by the price as the place is more expensive that the market and even more expensive if you consider that they do not offer breakfast included in the room rate as lots of other accomodation options in the area. On the other hand, the price is justified to a large extent by this place - everything was perfectly design from the outset, the parking, the ski room, the entry to the hotel, the swimming pool and sauna, the reception, the amazing terrases of the apartments (beautiful views over the mountains and the beautiful Ortisei which you can see down the valley while drinking a glass of wine), proximity to the skibus station (30 m), quality of the finishings inside the apartments. On top of this, the personnel and the owners were all so nice and welcoming. This is a real gem for Val Gardena area in general and for Ortisei in particular. Finally, Ortsei is a beautiful small mountain town - we found it more beautiful than Val Gardena.

Comfortable for couple and family. Spectacular view of the mountain and the plateau. Great sauna and swimming pool. Perfect place for a retreat. Fantastic breakfast. A bit far from the station - you’d better drive believe me. Or get off at the Ortisei Piazza S. Antonio Station if you have a luggage.

Great location very nice apartment but the staff go beyond to look after you. Run by a family this is a great place to stay. We booked 2 apartments and couldn’t fault it? The breakfast basket was excellent and provided rolls for a packed lunch. Definitely coming back

The apartment has wonderful view to Ortisei Village. The owner and staff are friendly and supporting. The apartment size is very good, beds are comfortable and good kitchenette. The water from the tap is drinkable There is a nice swimming pool (indoor and outdoor) with heated water and wonder view to mountain. There is also Sauna opens at 3PM. There is free car parking, and free Wifi. There is no Air Condition or at least small fan. I have been on other apartment (such as San Candido), they provided small rotatable fan, to circulate the air. The walking to Ortisei center by walking is around 5 minutes. On the way back, there is little hill to rise. The check-out must be on 10AM, or eailer, The price is very very very expansive. However, I recommended to stay on it.

This was one of our favorite stays in Italy! Beautiful apartment, well equipped, we loved having two bathrooms, and the black out shades for great rest. The best of course was the view from every window and the pool was just down the stairs from our patio. We loved the kitchen and made breakfast a few mornings. We used the pool and sauna everyday. We loved the 10 min walk into town. It’s just a lovely neighborhood. We also loved parking our car and just walking to seceda and Mont seuc gondolas. The only mild complaint is there is no air conditioning, which was mostly fine. If you open the windows for fresh air, bugs will fly in. It’s also on top of a steep hill. So at the end of long day of hiking, it’s tough to hike up that steep hill.

We spend one week at Gran Tubla with our two boys (8&12) and had an excellent time. Carmen and her two sons who run the place are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Nothing seems too much for them, it’s service with a smile. For example, on Saturday the door to the terrace broke, things like that happen sometimes. Within a few minutes the handy man, equally friendly and helpful, provisionally repaired the door so that we could use our terrace without any issues. Then, as promised, on Monday the door was properly fixed. The Gran Tubla team apologised profusely for this event which was not necessary but a kind gesture. The boys were in the swimming pool every day and while it’s not the biggest pool in the world, it worked very well for us. The view from the terrace onto the mountains (see photos) was lovely and we enjoyed sitting there while having a beverage. It’s a short walk down the hill into St. Ulrich and the place is literally at your fingertips. Parking in a dedicated garage with ample space was excellent too. There is a washing machine on the 1st floor where €5 allows to wash one, large machine load (there’s a dryer too for the same price which we didn’t use). We can also highly recommend the breakfast at €12p.p. which will be brought to your room. There are eggs, cheese, Speck, croissants, rolls, marmalade, coffee, juice, cake and Nutella. We’d like to return since the Grödner valley, St. Ulrich and Gran Tubla were truly awesome!
