Beautiful rooms and spa is great. Breakfast is also a lovely spread, pity no toaster.

Our experience at Hotel Angelo Engel was nothing short of outstanding. The room was clean, roomy and had a great view. More important, the staff was fantastic - they took all of the time needed to help us with ideas on where to go, where to eat, what to see, and how to get the appropriate passes and tickets. The facilities are beautiful, in particular the outdoor areas - lots of different spaces to sit and soak up the sun. If you value minimizing travel time to get to what you want to do, the location couldn't be better. With three gondola/funicular connections within walking distance, you can get to several very different hiking areas within minutes. And finally, "downtown" is litterally a short walk away. A truly great experience - definitely worth it.

We had a fantastic experience at Angelo Engel. The staff were very friendly, helped with transportation advise and other questions. The view from the room was spectacular, we certainly enjoyed the heated pool. I would also say that the 1/2 board option was a good move. It was better than most of I have experienced. Salad plus four courses that were very well prepared. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great food, lovely room, perfect spa area and never felt busy. Being able to order fresh eggs for breakfast really elevated the breakfast buffet. I borrowed hiking poles which really saved my knees on some of the hikes.

The service from housekeeping, to front desk, to the bar could not have been more perfect. Special note should be given to Nicola at the bar. Nic made our before dinner and after dinner experience truly special. We will always remember the dirty martini extravaganza!

Hotel Angelo Engel is ideally located near the center of Ortisei, within easy walking distance of many local points of interest. The property is very clean, welcoming, and appears to be very well maintained. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a great balcony offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and we also enjoyed the attentive evening bar service. The grounds were beautifully maintained and inviting. The staff were consistently responsive, helpful, and accommodating throughout our stay. Overall, Hotel Angelo Engel provided a very enjoyable experience, and we would gladly stay there again.

We just spent a wonderful week at the hotel and I think the most impressive and appreciated part of our stay was the welcoming and helpfulness of the staff! Each young woman at the desk was friendly and eager to assist! Nick, the bartender, and the other staff made the best drinks, really cared for guests and connected to each of us. For me, he made the best pina coladas each afternoon! George, the guide, sent us on two unique adventures and we are grateful for his advice! The dining room staff were attentive and we always found something interesting and different to eat, something important to us as we travel. The room and grounds were uniquely Italian and beautifully kept! Lastly, we loved that the 4th gen owner was present everyday, interested in the guests. There were families and solo travelers of all ages. You cannot beat the location, steps away from everything but somehow tucked away from it, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. We loved the pool after a day of hiking and enjoyed the bar and weekly entertainment. If you want a cookie cutter hotel experience, I would not go here. However, if you want to feel very Italian, comfortable, cared for and welcomed, book here! It was a lovely place to stay!
