Hotel Imperiale

Due to the season, this hotel was mostly empty. We were treated to a clean, comfortable, quiet place that was totally attentive to us. Breakfast was huge and tasty, a big spread was put out even tho we were the only people in the breakfast room the entire time we ate. Parking was a reasonable 30 polish, check in and out was super quick and easy, and our room was very lovely. It is basically across the street from the Auschwitz entrance, so it was very convenient. Would stay again and recommend to friends and family.

If one has adequate time, it is good to break up a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau and stay nearby overnight. I didn't wish to be herded along such a significant site in the space of a day including the 1.5 hours drive each way from Krakow. I had Room 312 on the top floor, with a glimpse of part of the Auschwitz camp and overlooking a supermarket car park. My room was large, quiet and very comfortable and the staff were all very friendly and happy to help. It is about 20 mins walk to the entrance of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum. They have built a new Visitor's Centre quite recently so the entrance location has changed. I asked the hotel to book me a taxi (very reasonable rate) from the hotel to save my legs. Worth it as the sites of both camps are simply vast. One can catch a bus from just opposite the hotel into the little town of Oswiecim but to get back to Auschwitz Museum at a certain time seemed more difficult. The language barrier didn't help. Had dinner at the hotel - all good, not a vast range to choose from but they serve excellent freshly-squeezed orange juice and have a well-stocked bar.

The steward pretended to be official of Auschwitz Museum and urge drivers to park their car in their car park , which is 1.4km away from the Museum. This is scam. Both the locals and tourist were not happy with this after the visit to the museum and had a quarrel with the steward. They just didn't care of it.

We arrived very late and the reception was open and the staff extremely nice. Very good room, clean, big, free wifi. Breakfast delicious. We left the car in the parking (to be paid) during our visit to the Concentration Camp that is reachable in 3 min walking. Definitely recommended.

We were staying next door at the Hotel Olecki, which does not now have a restaurant, but which sent us here (iut is a sister hotel, we gather). Our meal was superb - beautifully presented, very tasty and good value. We particularly enjoyed the sour rye souop, the zander with sunflower seeds, carpaccio of beef and pork with bacon and cheese.

Staff is very friendly, rooms are very spacious, cuisine at the restaurant is amazing which makes the hotel just exceptional all together. We felt like at home when we came back after a few months. Atmosphere here is very wellcoming, you can partake in small talk with the staff if you wish to do so and everyone is just eager to help.

Perfect. Amazing value, massive room, great breakfast and literally across the road from Auschwitz. Really friendly staff too. 20 minute walk (1 mile) from Oswiecim Station, along a main road. I recommend getting the train here from Krakow. So much cheaper than the €50 cab.
