Hotel Green Plaza Hakuba

An older hotel, but classic with beautiful design and Swiss-European architecture. The upkeep is quite good; although some elements are starting to show their age, they're still functional. The large bathhouse offers a semi-outdoor view to enjoy the cool breeze while soaking in comfortably warm water. Both breakfast and dinner offer a wide variety of delicious dishes. Service is excellent.

The hotel's exterior is very attractive, like a European castle. Honestly, if you book this hotel in advance, it's really convenient because finding a ski hotel isn't easy. The price is reasonable. The dinner buffet selection is just okay and quite expensive, so if it only includes breakfast, I'd only eat that one meal at the hotel. For dinner, I'd eat out. The hot springs are very comfortable and spacious, not crowded.

The room was incredibly spacious, spread across two levels. My kids absolutely loved the tatami area upstairs. It's super convenient for skiing, as you can head straight to the slopes from downstairs. The hotel's dining options were also quite good, and there's a small convenience store downstairs too. Definitely a highly recommended hotel!

The hotel is located on a hill, and the ascent is steep. If there's heavy snow, even snow tires might slide. The hotel doesn't provide complimentary bottled water. For this price, you'd expect it, but you have to go down to the convenience store to buy water. We stayed for two nights, and the housekeeper never cleaned our room. You have to bring your own towel to the onsen. The dinner portions were small and not tasty, but since the weather was bad, driving up and down the hill felt risky, so we just bought instant noodles to eat. The room was spacious enough for us to lay out futons and sleep on the floor.

I've stayed here many times, but this time, both the dinner and breakfast weren't as good as before. There were no staff members supervising the hot spring bath, and some people got in without rinsing off first.
