The guesthouse I stayed in during skiing in Hakuba - Tsugaike Plateau Washi House, is a 1-minute walk from the ski resort. It is run by Japanese grandparents and feels a bit old. I dare not turn off all the lights to sleep at night, always feeling that something in a cartoon will happen. Although the things are old, they are very clean. The breakfast is Japanese style, and the rice is very soft. It is the best I have eaten in the past few days.
