The Stay Yuki

This guesthouse is fantastic, it completely met my expectations. The location is great, very close to Otaru Canal, Otaru Station, and the public bus stops. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The supermarket across the street was also very convenient for shopping.

The host speaks Mandarin, and overall it was pretty good. The only drawbacks were the lack of an elevator, which made carrying luggage up and down a bit inconvenient, and the soundproofing wasn't the best. However, the location is very convenient, close to Otaru, and there are plenty of restaurants and food options nearby!

The hotel's location is great, just an 8-minute walk to Otaru Station. The room is quite spacious with nice decor and is very clean. It has a private bathroom with a separate wet and dry area, and the toiletries are high-quality, all from the Pola brand. The owner is Chinese, so communication was seamless, which is a big plus.

The hotel has some serious flaws. The underground parking is tiny, fitting only 4 cars, so we had to park on the street. Luckily, our car was small and we left early in the morning, so we didn't obstruct traffic. Also, the shower room has nowhere to hang clothes, which makes changing after a shower really inconvenient. On the positive side, the beds are a good size and it's close to Otaru Port. However, the cleanliness is a major concern. I was woken up in the middle of the night by bug bites; my ankles were covered in bumps, like flea bites, which was really unpleasant.

The room was very spacious, and the hot water was plentiful and comfortable. The hosts, a husband and wife, were very welcoming! However, the soundproofing really isn't great. On the plus side, it's very close to 7-Eleven (you can even see it from the room).

The spacious family room was very clean, and I slept soundly until morning. It comfortably fit 6 adults, including junior high school students and older. However, I was told there would be space for 3 cars in the parking lot, but there were already 3 sedans parked there, so it wasn't possible. Even if it were empty, the extremely steep slope and narrow space would require considerable skill to park (TT). We ended up parking in a lot about a 5-6 minute walk away, which cost 600 yen for a maximum of 12 hours. The bathroom is located straight ahead from the entrance, and there's no changing area, so it would have been reassuring to have a partition or space for towels. Also, there are no curtains on the kitchen window immediately above, which required some care.

There's parking available, which is good. Everything is booked online, and you don't see any staff.
