This hotel is excellent, with a luxurious retro style. They offer a shuttle service, and you can even call them from Ogoto Onsen Station for a pick-up. The location is great, right by the lake with beautiful scenery. Both dinner and breakfast were superb. I'll definitely be back!

Stepping out of JR Ogoto-onsen Station, I spotted the shuttle bus across the street, waiting at a red light. I quickly waved, and to my surprise, the driver motioned for me to wait, then circled back to pick us up – incredibly grateful for that! 😊 The drive to the hotel took about 5 minutes. Upon entering the lobby, I noticed a slightly odd smell. The staff asked us to take a seat in the lobby. After checking us in and confirming our meal times, they showed us to our room. There was no odd smell in the room or restaurant areas. They even helped with our luggage – truly excellent service. The private hot spring in the room had continuously flowing water; I'm not sure if it's recirculated, but you can see Lake Biwa from there. The summer dinner cuisine was delicious! 😋

The hotel has a good environment, very convenient transportation, friendly staff, and good hygiene. It's clean with just the right amount of light, and the air conditioning is nice and cool. (It has a window with comfortable sunlight).

The environment is absolutely beautiful, right by the lake. They have a great happy hour in the lobby, and I really enjoyed the sauna and hot spring pool. The breakfast and dinner buffets were amazing – I was so surprised to see seafood BBQ even at breakfast! The only minor drawback was the restroom, which was quite small, but it was fine for just using the toilet.

Damn nice view from my room! I just spent the whole day chilling at the hotel, soaking in the hot springs whenever I had a moment. Plus, the hotel provided two meals, and they were super fresh!

Biwako Ryokusuitei was an absolute treat. We had a bit of a wobble at Ogoto-Onsen station as I couldn't find a phone, but luckily we spotted the hotel shuttle. The driver was lovely and made us feel welcome right from the off. The reception staff were brilliant, really friendly and gave us a proper run-through of the place. Housekeeping was spot on too they were right on the ball and had our tatami mats all ready for us while we were away at dinner. The real stars, though, were the dining staff. They were incredibly professional and took the time to explain exactly what we were eating and how to enjoy each dish. Both breakfast and dinner were top-notch 😋I'm still thinking about that food now! A proper (home away from home) experience

Extremely satisfied with this hotel, definitely a vacation experience you won't regret! First off, the check-in service was impressive, with staff literally kneeling to assist us, and they provided a very thorough introduction to all the hotel's facilities and services. The lady who helped us was beautiful, gentle, and spoke excellent English 👍 Next, the hot springs: We booked a Japanese-style room with a private onsen, and the view was absolutely stunning. The private hot spring was incredibly comfortable; all three of us could soak together with no problem, haha. The hotel's public baths were also super clean, and there was almost no one else there when we went, which made for a very relaxing soak. Then there's the food: The dinner was Kaiseki cuisine plus Omi beef shabu-shabu, which was surprisingly delicious! I thought I might not be used to Kaiseki, but that wasn't the case at all! The Omi beef was also of superb quality, incredibly fresh and flavorful after a quick dip in the clear broth. Breakfast was also very rich and varied! The room size was also perfectly fine. The only slight drawback is that check-out time is too early... 10 AM... If it could be a bit later, it would be absolutely perfect!

This is a Japanese onsen hotel. The service and food were great, but the rules are a bit rigid. My husband came to drop us off and was planning to leave the same evening without staying. We just wanted to chat as a family of three in our room for a bit. To our surprise, the staff told us we could only talk in the lobby. They said only the person who made the reservation could enter the room, based on how many people were booked. I offered to pay extra so my husband could rest in the room before leaving, but they still refused. Then, to ensure I didn't take my husband into the room, the staff watched us all the way as we put our luggage in, making sure he didn't enter, and then politely escorted him back to the lobby. Alright, I guess we have to follow the rules of Japanese onsen hotels.

Take a break from Osaka to this little gem, surprise me for such a nice small onsen hotel. Amazing dinner and breakfast.

Breakfast was excellent.

Love the overall experience, sunrise view is a bonus, staff are super friendly. However, we booked through trip.com, the price shows online does not include the kid, even we selected the kid at the begining, so we had to pay additional at check out. This is agent's issue, not the resort.

Breakfast and dinner were both excellent. While breakfast was great, it was the same every day. For dinner, we had hotpot on the first night, crab on the second, and steak on the third. The crab was just okay, as it wasn't fresh and the portion was small, so we ended up ordering extra beef hotpot to fill up. The hotel's shuttle bus was convenient. The hot spring wasn't large, but I went three days in a row and never encountered anyone else. Overall, it's a great hotel.
