Toyoko Inn Kyoto Biwako Otsu Reviews

The hotel is about 12-min walk from JR station. The selected room (15 sm with 2 beds) is very clean and spacious whereas the staff attitude and service is in line with the Hotel Chain's practice. Breakfast is included and the quality is so-so, not much expectation indeed. Sometimes, it is a bit packed as there are quite a number of business travellers. It is attractivec to have free coffee round the clock. Numerous restuarants incl. Starbucks are located at JR station which opened till late night which is an unexpectable priviledge. You can also find a Family Mart in 5-min walk near the hotel and some small restaurants, especially a local Ramen shop, opposite to the hotel with good service and food quality.

I really enjoyed it.Location is good cuz it takes 10 minutes from Otsu station. View from 11 floors is spectacular.

Basic but no complaints. I am not a fan of automatic check in machines though.

This hotel perfect for a stay out from bustling Kyoto city. a bit far, but very good location if you dont mind 10mins walk to JR station.

The staffs were very nice, the room was not big, but everything just was arranged correctly and comfortable. In the morning, there was nice breakfast.

Being a Toyoko Inn, there's nothing wrong with the hotel itself. The rooms are clean and the service is also excellent. The only downside is the location. It's a bit far from both JR Otsu Station and Keihan Biwako-Hamaotsu Station, so it might be a bit difficult if you have luggage or during hot or cold seasons. Also, there are no convenience stores nearby, so you might find it inconvenient if you forget to buy something.

It was far from any station, about a 12-minute walk. It was also a bit far to call a taxi, and carrying heavy luggage was tiring.

The accommodation comes with breakfast, and the breakfast is rich. The breakfast changes every day for three days, which is good. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from JR Otsu. There are some shops and supermarkets around. You can walk to Mii Temple, but it is relatively quiet and there are not many tourists. I stayed on the 14th floor. The room is small but well-equipped. I operated the machine myself. There were Chinese prompts. I chose not to clean, but I was given a new towel every day, which was hung in the bag outside the door. The wifi in the room was available in the afternoon of the first day, but it was not available at night. I went to the front desk to negotiate. The communication was a bit complicated, but it was solved smoothly. In addition, a password was given, but the wifi in the room on the 14th floor was not very stable for three days. Overall, it is still a recommended place.

Self-check-in was available, but the service was quite good. There was a water dispenser and a small seating area. The room was a bit more spacious than typical Japanese rooms, but there was only one elevator, so the wait was quite long. The breakfast was simple and delicious. It's a few minutes' walk from the station, and there's a small shopping street nearby.

My room was in front of the air conditioner unit storage area, so the view from the window was terrible. Apparently there are rooms with views of Lake Biwa, so I wish they'd let me choose the view I wanted. Even though I asked if I wanted a room with a good view when I checked in... I wish they'd explained to me that, if there was an air conditioner unit outside the window, unfortunately there were no other rooms available, or that the other rooms were more expensive.

The location is convenient, very close to the subway station, and the room is of normal size. It is easy to find on the roadside, but there are trams on the road, so people with poor sleep may need to pay attention. I didn't feel anything when I slept alone
