I have stayed at multiple Marriott hotels and almost always loved my stay at Marriott. If only it was possible to give 0 stars this hotel would definitely qualify for it. It has to be the worst 4 star hotel there is. I have stayed at better 2 and 3 star hotels. This hotel is a classic example of extreme penny pinching.
1. I booked online for 4 nights for our anniversary, and decided to call in advance to ensure that the crib is made available in the room as we were traveling with a baby from another city (I had also made a special note at the time of booking). The lady on phone said that she had added that as note. However when we arrived exhausted we were lead to a room which had no crib and on top of that the flush was constantly flushing itself. I made it known to front desk to which they said they can move us to another room but they have no special note.
2. The new room had a very strange design. There was a random door which when we opened we found there was another door for the adjacent room, so definitely the noise from either room could travel very easily. Security wise, if the door on our side isn’t locked, the people from adjacent room can easily open their door and enter our room.
3. The cleanliness was very questionable, we found hair in both our beds and the toilet seat was very dirty.
4. The weirdest thing hands down has to be the availability of no drinking water in the room. The guests are supposed to fill the glass flask given in the room themselves. If you have a family of 2-3 people count multiple trips to the 6th floor where a single machine is.
5. The room was very cold and the bathroom was even colder. I slept very poorly the first night because the air conditioning vent kept on blasting the air at specific interval which was directly on my headboard, it was super noisy and then when a certain temperature was reached it would turn off to a dead silence, so ofcourse I found it very hard to sleep. Next morning I informed the front desk about it and their solution to it was just turning the vent on full time instead of it being automatic, while the room still remained very cold despite the thermostat reading 23 degrees, and changing the bedsheets. They said the bathroom has no heating so they can provide a portable heater (yeah, heating devices near water source is a great idea).
6. The bathrooms are extremely tiny with hardly any leg room if you sit on a toilet seat which faces the bathtub.
7. The toiletries are provided on request in the name of being more sustainable which I don’t mind but what they provided once we got them on request was truly shocking. The toothbrushes ware extremely flimsy and made of plastic with very hard bristles which can hurt your gums.
8. One of the big reason for booking the hotel was finding on website that there is a kids play area. We thought it would be great for our daughter in case we choose to spend a day in but what we saw was truly disappointing. The place was extremely poorly maintained. None of the toys worked, they were either broken or did not have a battery inside them. Also the room was full of gaming console with big screens (definitely something you need in a kid play area). All of these machines ofcourse have work by putting coins in them.
9. The breakfast buffet was so disappointing. Extremely limited options (it was literally a u shaped table with another table in front of it loaded with carbs and baked good). Expect to pay around $75 for 2 people for such meager spread. The restaurant on premise has very limited vegetarian options and is pricy.
10. The lobby of the hotel is very drab and depressing, no common spaces welcoming enough where you would want to go and sit if you don’t feel like sitting in your room.
11. The parking is paid and we paid $110 for 3 days, the fourth day we just booked a parking lot nearby which was way cheaper.
It definitely ruined our anniversary experience. Extremely disappointed.
