Econo Lodge Downtown Ottawa Reviews

The location is perfect! not so far from ottawa via rail station and also not far from the ordinary train station. It is also in downtown so it is very easy to go to famous attractions. The service is very good! The staff is very kind and helpful. The place is very clean and the room is also clean. I am not sure if there is a 1 bed room. I feel like I am wasting 1 bed when I am on a 2 bed room. Anyway, I am used to having a kettle for hot water, coffee or tea in my room when I travel but they do not have that one. They do not have tea or coffee in the room. Also they don't have those slippers that you can walk around. They also do not have free water like in most motels/hotels. I had 2 breakfasts. They do not have an area where you can eat breakfast so you just need to get your breakfast from the office and eat in your room. In general, I just needed a place to stay for the night and it was very good! I still would recommend to those who wants to travel in Ottawa! Thank you Econo Lodge!

Conveniently located right next to bus stop that will take you to main attractions in the city, luggage drop off before and after check in and check out allowed which makes trip planning much easier. However, breakfast is just a muffin, a small yogurt and a small pack of juice in a takeaway bag which is very disappointing.

The WiFi is very bad but the service is good.the bed is big and comfortable.

The motel is dated, but clean, and the bathroom had been redone. The location was great for our purpose of seeing Parliament Hill and the area around there; we could walk and save expenses. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very close to Capitol Hill and large shopping malls, about 10 minutes' walk away. The hotel bathroom is newly renovated. The so-called breakfast is just simple yogurt and a small pastry. There is free parking. Check-in staff is a bit complicated.

The hotel service is great, the location is also very good and the facilities are complete

Everything was fine was quit friendly staff.good for car park easy access to attractions and mall.

Area didn't feel safe, people lingering outside the rooms. Room itself was generally clean, but it was clear they don't do any deep cleaning.

The breakfast is a juice box a yogurt and a muffin. There is no continental breakfast like the picture shows. The beds are hard

Hotel needs a lot of improvements. When I arrived late in the evening, the TV and Internet connections are not working. The TV connection got fixed the following day but the internet connection was never fixed during my entire stay (8/19-23/2023). The breakfast was not as per advised in *******. Just 2 small muffins, yogurt and a packed juice. The frond end staff were nice and apologetic for the situations.

Bath tub was so dirty I would not even have a shower it did not smell the best it was so dirty is was sick will never go back there or stay at any of them cause of this one

Everything was good. Front Office staff very friendly and welcome. However, the parking lot in front of units is dirty and full of litter so needs to be swept.

Claims they have non smoking rooms, yet the moment we stepped into our room it REEKED of cigarette smoke. It’s understanding that they were unable to provide another room to us due to the weekend being busy and them being sold out of rooms. However, there was no accommodations made whatsoever, the room was not recleaned, and we were still charged full price for the stay. The wifi is not password protected, so it doesn’t work whatsoever. Breakfast is fruit, a yogurt and a muffin in a paper bag that you get from reception. You wait at least 30 minutes to get checked into your room. The keycards stopped working about 4 times over the weekend so we had to wait to get new ones. They have photos online for their property, but they only have photos of the updated bedrooms. I’m assuming they renovated the main floor but they did not renovate the second level, which is where we were staying. The room itself was dark, dingey, smelled awful, the ac unit was so loud I thought it was going to take off and fly away. The bathroom had smoke stains all over the walls, there was dust everywhere, all the grout lining the shower was mouldy. There were bugs each time we came back to the room in the bathroom or on the walls. The towels were stained with makeup and god knows what else. The only positive parts of the room were that the water was hot, and the beds were clean. You get what you pay for, and I didn’t expect this place to be amazing but I expected better.
