Dated. Dirty. I can forgive dated but this place is dirty. Lampshades falling apart. Shower room grimy. Someone left their Chinese takeaway in fridge! Breakfast would have been ok but I was not about to eat the prepped fruit. I asked for a spoon. It was provided from a table where people had just left. Dirty crocs yet to be cleared. Awful experience.

I have many bed bug bites from this place, we have had to throw out, wash and exterminate our luggage, which is costly and time consuming. This place is incredibly overpriced especially considering: -The fridge was mouldy - the place had bed bugs and needs an extermination, clean and redecoration. - - The decor is very dated and old. Positive - They were friendly

We spent a night here as we attended an event in Oxford, and I personally was delighted by this traditionally designed English B&B! It was warm and welcoming, I had such a good sleep and I experienced the simple but classy breakfast served by the host. The road was quite busy and we could hear noise from other guests (it was a weekend after all!), but this house is a perfect example of the authentic British life and we will definitely be back!

This is a well located facility for access to Oxford. But it is very expensive, given the poor quality offer. In spite of material in the room advertising a full English breakfast, it in fact only offers what they describe as a" continental " breakfast. The centrepiece of this is a boiled egg: and virtually hard boiled at that ! The only alternative us to have 2 boiled eggs ! The beds are small and the heating was inadequate for a mild night in March. It advertises as a 4 star facility but this must relate to their pricing structure as this accommodation is at best 2 star. Our advice is not to be tempted by the good location but to get a better quality deal elsewhere in Oxford.

Stayed here as a base for the Queen Extravaganza show at the new theatre, On arrival we noted there was ample parking, The owner greeted us, he was very friendly & cheerful, he gave us our room keys & explained a few basics ie- breakfast times etc, The rooms are large & comfortable (some may say a bit dated but remember you are not paying top dollar), There was plenty of tea, coffee & milks, usually you only get enough for 1 maybe 2 cups but here you get loads, The beds were comfortable, the bathroom in my room was big & spacious, The rooms were very warm but turning the radiator thermostats down soon had the rooms more to my liking, The owner had arranged a taxi for us, we had asked for a taxi number but he offered to call one for the time we wanted, The breakfast is a continental type, tea / coffee, cereals (lots of choice), fruit / fruit juices, toast with jams / marmalade, boiled eggs all served by a very friendly, smiling lady, she offered for us to have breakfast earlier than the agreed time, I cannot fault the place, if you want 5 star rooms then go & pay 5 star prices but if you are more interested in 5 star service then this place easily delivers & more,

We stayed in room 3 for 2 nights. It is very dated, has a tiny shower room. The whole room is in dire need of a total refit. As everyone else has said, Mark, the manager is delightful but meeting him can detract from the very poor experience we had with the room allocated to us. There is no fan, the fridge is noisy, we switched it off to try and get some sleep. The pillows were hard and old and should be thrown away. They were changed at our request but still not satisfactory. On the positive side, the hotel is well located for access to the city centre with frequent bus services very close to the property. We were allowed to leave our car there for most of the day of our departure. Breakfast was very good, a lovely array of fresh fruit and berries, boiled eggs and toast. On the whole though, we felt that £253 for two nights at this hotel is far in excess of it’s worth.
