We were driving back to the city and was too tired to keep on driving. I booked my a a night the same day at this hotel using a free reward I had. Upon checking in I was I formed I had made reservation for the following week instead, which was my mistake l. However the overnight person at the front desk was rude about it, did not wanted to modified to that nights stay instead.
I had to rebook and pay for the night we stayed. The hotel is ok, nothing fancy really. When rebook for the correct right, the gentleman at the front desk tries to overcharge me for the same room, I had to show him my phone where their website and ******* showed a different price.
He kept on emphasizing on asking how many people will be staying in the room, which since the beginning of our conversation I had told him it was 3 adults a baby and one child. Total of 5 people. He wanted me to pay extra as the double bed suite with pull out couch was not enough. I ended up booking 2 rooms that night. Not only did I loose my free night earned through ******* but also had to pay for an additional room since the 5 people were too many for their advertisement of 6 people for such suite.
This was just less than professional as there seem zero empathy on this guys behalf. We were all tired and had our luggage down, had a crying baby so we just decided to pay for the extra suite for that one person to sleep there.
I’m not sure I’d this is just a tactic to over sell and meet their quota perhaps?
