We stayed 3 nights and found this lodge very welcoming, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location was perfect for exploring the area and it was a flat 5-10 minute walk to the wharves, restaurants and shops. Having a well-equipped and clean shared kitchen area was also great. We enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is ideally located, very clean and convenient. The owners are super nice. I stayed three nights to explore bay of islands, I would definitely choose this place again. It is walking distance from the harbour, restaurants, stores and the beach.

The Bay of Islands Lodge was just the perfect place to stay for our few days in Paihia. Andy and Lynne were great hosts. They very kindly upgraded us to the Godwit suite which had a lovely sitting room and balcony as we were staying for 4 nights. Thanks Andy &Lynne. Everything was very clean and tidy - kitchen was well equipped with great outdoors dining area and bbq facilities. The lodge is 5 minutes walk to the beachfront and another 5 to all the main wharf restaurants and bay cruises. Was everything one could hope for and great value.

Great place as a base for lots of great excursions in the region. Host Andy is very helpful and fourthcoming if you need advice or recommendations. Clean and tidy rooms and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare yoursef a quick snack, or a lager meal. Some good restaurants are also near by.

Who wouldn't be happy with a free upgrade? This was the best welcome we ever had at the Bay if Islands. Thank you Andy for considering the comfort of my family with no extra cost. Andy was also quick to reply when I asked about for recommendations about the cruise. Would definitely recommend this place.

If you are looking for comfort, cleanliness, easy access to amenities then the Bay of Islands Lodge is perfect. Andy and Lynne are knowledgeable and extremely kind and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and the proximity to everything is fantastic. We did have a very noisy Friday evening, but that is propably to be expected.

We loved our recent stay at the Bay of Islands Lodge. Lynne and Andy are wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome. Being in the middle of a longer road trip and dealing with hiccups along the way meant we had to change our dates and timings at the last minute but Andy was so gracious and helpful. Our room was clean, quiet and very comfortable, and the well-equipped and spacious kitchen and other provided amenities meant we had everything we needed for a really relaxing and enjoyable stay. My partner and I agreed this was our favourite place we stayed on our Northland holiday. Thank you Andy and Lynne, we'll be back!

Hosts could not have been any friendlier and more accommodating. Lovely clean comfy facilities. Great location, 30 seconds from beachfront, bars, cafe. Discounts offered on booking some of the excellent local trips.
