Excellent service

Overall, it's pretty good! However, during the off-season, many restaurants in the area are closed, and it's difficult to get to the beach or town center without a bus. There are buses from near the hotel, though on separate routes, that go to the town center, the bus terminal, and the cathedral, which is convenient. The large supermarket is closed on Sundays, which is also convenient. On Sundays, the supermarket in front of it is more convenient. The room was spacious, and the bathroom facilities were fine. There were no tissues or pajamas, and the amenities were minimal. I don't think there was a toothbrush?

The service was appalling. To begin with, they charged us for the accommodation even though it had already been paid for at the time of booking. We were given a family room with two bathrooms (a nice touch), but there were ants in both bathrooms—disgusting. I left my dentures in the bathroom, and when I came back from breakfast, they were covered in ants. Dust was everywhere in the cupboards, and the cleaning was minimal and superficial. I complained about the ants, and the receptionist kept giving me the runaround until I finally got fed up and pointed it out quite clearly. Then they decided to move us to a worse room (because it didn't have separate beds or two bathrooms). To make matters worse (my daughter and I are celiac, and it was the first time we could enjoy a gluten-free ensaimada), we bought one, and even though we were ordering drinks from the hotel, they wouldn't let us eat it on the café terrace. They told us this in a rather unsympathetic way; we explained the situation, but they didn't care. The heated pool was cloudy. The hotel is well located in the port, but it lacks maintenance and professional staff.

The only downside was that there was work going on so I was woken up in the morning by loud drilling noises.
