The room was comfortable, quiet and clean. The shower was not fully cleaned and the water was cold.
At check in, the staff member said we would be charged a deposit, but that he could not accept credit cards. At 11:00 pm we had a choice of finding a new hotel or giving him a paper copy of my credit card which was very insecure. We should not have been asked to make that choice. I could have paid him a smaller amount in cash but that was not acceptable. When we returned to check out in the morning, I asked the new staff member to shred the information and accept the lesser amount in cash but that staff member, and someone hiding in the back room both repeated that they had to keep the copy of my credit card in order to collect the fee. I felt I had not other option except to contact the corporate headquarters. Someone now has a paper copy of my credit card and I will be checking for unauthorized charges and credit card fraud.
