Mermaid Hotel & Club

An amazing hotel situated in front of the beach where you will have amazing sunsets. Thank you for the yoga classes that were excellent! Rooms are spacious, clean and the staff is very friendly! It was a real pleasure! Thanks to all! Big up to the Chef and his team! Everything was so delicious!

Waiting for our taxi to take us to Colombo airport so thought it a good idea to write this report before this holiday fades . First time to Sri Lanka although we have been to some of the Indian Ocean islands . We weren’t disappointed with either the hotel or country . It’s a fantastic if at sometimes chaotic country to visit . We were in room 260 which has a good view of the ocean and the rooms were very clean and spacious . Our housekeeper who has been working for the hotel for 31 years was brilliant . His name was Niahl always with a smile and he took pride in his work . Thank you Niahl . His line manager Kusalria was also very approachable . Although the hotel was tired in parts the location was stunning - a large garden area backing on to the beach . The strength of the hotel is its work force who are incredibly diligent and hard working - nothing was ever too much trouble . In the restaurant there is a mix of foods although understandably it’s mainly curries or Sri Lankan food . The waiters are so attentive and I would personally like to thank Mahinra , Saman , Cheeky Boy ( he is excellent with his understanding of English and the customs and Wasantha . Trips are worth undertaking and we made use of the Mercury rep who organised a fantastic couple of days out seeing some incredible parts of the island . Please take the opportunity as there is so much to see . There are two pools on site - the main one and a games one - both very well maintained . I was however able to go into the sea on most days - a strong current but perfectly accessible if you are sensible . Finally the biggest thanks must go to Shivi and his understudy in the sports department . As a retired PE teacher I so much enjoyed what was on offer - every day was varied and such good fun . During the week we were involved in water volleyball , table tennis , boule and of course cricket . There were other activities but more suited to fitter and younger people . Thank you Shivi keep on with the good work . Sorry I didn’t get the chance to say thank you - it rained heavily and you were doing a cycling course on our last full day .

The hotel room was clean, nice and spacious. Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner offered with a wide variety of food both wester and Sri Lankan. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is just perfect for stay peaceful a walk around the hotel.

Beautiful sea side hotel . Staff were extremely hospitable & friendly. Food was amazing & we personally thanked Mr. Chithrasena ( Head chef ) for the tasty food. Excellent service from all staff & highly recommend for a cozy vacation with great food.

It was very good stay and we had a great time at mermaid hotel and got a warm welcome from Me. Thanuja and the front office staff. Sspecial thanks to Thanuja as she gave us a very good service while our stay. Rooms are very clean and food was delicious. Thank you very much Mermaid staff to make our stay pleasant.

WTHIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME IN NERMAID HOTEL AND WE WERE TJGRILLED WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE WE GOT FROM FRONT OFFICE STAFF SPECIALLY THANUJA AND MR.SUBASH AND SPECIALLY WE MUST THANK F&B MANAGER AND RESTAURANT STAFF FOR THEIRE CARING SERVICE.WE WOULD LIKETO VISIT AGAIN THIS BEAUTIFUL HOTEL

This was very good stay at mermaid as I got very warm welcome from Thanuja and the front office staff special thanks to Thanuja as she gave me aremendous service while my stay and room also very clean and tidy.food was delicious and restaurant staff including F&B manager also very attentive Thank you very much Mermaid to made my holiday pleasent
