Customer service is top-notch; all staff are courteous, helpful and friendly. It amazes me how they do the up-keep of the whole island. If you are looking for a place to bond with loved ones away from the city and the crowd of the other resorts, this is it! We will always treasure the memories we created with my daughter at Pangkor Laut Resort and we shall definitely go back in the future.

Dirty with bird poo and dirty cushions and towel (as on photo), given we paid RM1.5k for room it is unacceptable for the level of cleanliness. Adding up food and misc charges for another RM1k++ for food one day, imagine paying RM2.5k to get such service for a night stay is beyond speechless. Seriously understaffed as we are not served properly, kept us waiting no matter during explanation / service / check in, we arrived 1pm and the luggage was not in our room even after 5pm, phone not working and after scolded at reception twice only they send our luggage. Imagine kids shivering in cold only with towel as they do not have proper clothes to wear as luggage has not yet arrived.

The spa was a fantastic and unique experience, and the sunset on the beach was absolutely beautiful. The restaurant was decent too. Our room was very close to the lobby. However, there's one thing to be aware of: service charges and taxes can be applied multiple times. For instance, after paying for the spa, an additional 10% was added to the final bill. Just a small heads-up for everyone! It was truly a happy trip 😁, but all that happiness definitely came with a price. In the end, our on-island expenses were even higher than the room rate! 😅

You can really see how this resort may have been magnificent 20 years ago but today, it does seem rather dated. Beautiful place, nonetheless. However, for a place whose amenities and services rely heavily on bookings (taking away from the spontaneity some may appreciate), the booking system is highly HIGHLY flawed - you'd have to always contact a staff member and there is no booking confirmation sent over via email or anything of that sort, leaving room for errors. That said, what the place lacks in technological upgrades, it makes up with the fantastic and friendly staff.

I had to pay a boat fee of 80 MYR per person to get to the hotel, and I had to pay it both ways. There was no mention of this when I booked the hotel. They charged an extra 150 MYR for a blanket for my child. When we checked in and went to our room, an Indian staff member (an older lady) didn't help us with our luggage, even though the room was far away and up a hilly path. I wasn't happy with this experience.

Had a lovely long weekend getaway and stayed in the sea villas. The facilities were amazing with fresh water pools, tennis courts, gym and several restaurants with an excellent food selection. Our favourite was fisherman's cove which had more of a western cuisine. Overall we had a really pleasant stay. However having stayed at other similar resorts at a similar price it felt like it was lacking. I know how can I complain about staying in paradise? The area for improvement would be: an additional hose shower head instead of just the overhead one. Cleanliness of the library area. Greeting cold towels and drinks at the main lobby. Selection of shampoos, soaps and moisturisers. Eco-friendly toothbrush and energy controller with key card. Aircon and lights had to be turned off manually if we left the room. I would definitely go again but it would be nice if they took on more eco friendly initiatives.

The facilities are a bit old, and the food is quite unappetizing. Since our overwater bungalow was quite far, the service was also slow. We had to wait 15-20 minutes for a buggy every time we wanted to go for a meal. For a Southeast Asian vacation, I'd still recommend Thailand. This place in Malaysia is really not recommended!
