Bohol Cattleya Resort

I loved this guesthouse when I booked it. It has a fresh and simple decor, is spacious, and has a pool which I really like. The location is close to Bohol Divers Club on Alona Beach (the dive guide Eric was super nice), about a 15-minute walk past McDonald's and Jollibee. The breakfast was delicious, and if you have an early dive, you can pre-order a simple sandwich meal. There's a petite lady at the front desk who is excellent; she's almost always able to accommodate requests and provides attentive service. When we left, she even complimented us on how clean and tidy our room remained after a 4-night stay. The most thoughtful design feature is the Xiaomi TV box, allowing us to watch various Chinese satellite channels and CCTV when we returned in the evening – it felt very comforting. The only thing that could be improved is a suggestion for the owner to purchase a simple double-layered drying rack; it was a bit inconvenient to wash bikinis after returning from the beach and diving. I heard the owner was Chinese and specifically went to say hello, but they weren't in the Philippines.

The hotel itself is quite cozy and pleasant, located off the main street, and it's a 5-10 minute leisurely walk to Alona Beach. A 7-11 and a small mall are just 5 minutes away. The rooms are new and quite clean, and the air conditioning works well. There aren't many rooms, and each has direct access to the pool, which is a great place to relax after a hot day. The pool is very clean. The breakfast is typical for the Philippines, à la carte, with only one dish per person, which wasn't enough for us. As for the downsides, there's construction going on next to the hotel. Workers start drilling, sawing, and playing loud music from 5 AM, so if you like to sleep in, you probably won't be able to (I think this is temporary, but for us, getting enough sleep was important during our stay).

Very good hotel, cheap and beautiful, not extended street not noisy, out of the door is various gourmet restaurants, the beach is not far away, very large rooms, behind the house has a cooling area, a large swimming pool in the middle, suitable for evening swimming relaxation. Staying two nights after intermittent stay one night, breakfast was also great, apples were delicious, service was in place, when we left also helped us call a car, service was enthusiastic. The only drawback, the hot water is not hot enough.

The hotel is located on a side street off the main street. Initially, I thought the street would be scary at night, but with companions, it was alright. Upon entering, the hotel felt small and charming. There are only about 20 rooms in total, but they are large and clean, with direct access to the pool. The bathrooms are also large and clean, with glass doors leading directly to the pool where you can swim. Most of the hotel guests are Korean, and they were swimming in the pool during the day. The owner's recommendations for car rentals and snorkeling boat rentals are reliable and affordable. Breakfast is served very early, between 7:00 and 10:00, so I had the receptionist pack some for me the night before. Although I could only choose one of three options, the cheese and egg sandwich and the tuna sandwich were delicious. The owner is Chinese, so communication was seamless, which was especially helpful for someone like me with limited English. The reception also offers foreign currency services; I exchanged some cash for pesos at the reception, and the owner even provided free airport transfers.

5 people stayed in three rooms for 5 days. The room is large and clean, and many Chinese things look very friendly. However, there is no hot water in the shower. I only had a hot shower once in 5 days. The boss said that the water heater was broken and he had to fix it. It felt like it was not repaired. The hotel has a pick-up and drop-off service. The local guys basically know the name of the hotel, so it is not difficult to find it. It is about 10 minutes' walk from Alon Beach. Renting a motorcycle from the hotel is 400p a day, and renting a motorcycle from the hotel is about 800-900p. I did this three times in the hotel. It depends on luck, some are good and some are average. There is a swimming pool just outside the door. It is very clean and relatively quiet at night. Someone has raised a lot of chickens nearby and they crow quite loudly. However, we have been too tired from diving in the past few days and can basically ignore this sound. The breakfast at the hotel is okay. Coffee actually has to be purchased separately. American style is 100p and latte is 150p. They are delicious. Instant coffee is free. There is nothing left for now. If I visit Bohol again, I will come here again, but I hope there will be hot water for bathing next time.

Very cost-effective and has no drawbacks except that it’s hard to find.
