The weekend started well, the room was excellent, as was breakfast day 1, a little less so day 2 as service was slow, probably because they were busier.
In all the hotel itself was very good, the restaurant was right on the beach.
However, as a small fire broke out, (not publicised) which the fire service attended, we were moved to an alternative but much smaller, and seemingly, lower price point room with poor air con and a TV which did not work and was not fixed, despite requests. There were only 2 small single beds too.
I later noticed that guests were occupying the evacuated rooms and asked to be moved back. I was told the room was not considered fit for occupancy, despite that the surrounding roons were in use. I asked to see the manager who was apparently absent but then my previous room suddenly became available. So.. two stories, one of which was untruthful.
We moved back to that room at 9 pm!
Our treatment was not considerate in this matter and a number of other guests were incovenienced as the rooms they were moved to, were not appropriate for their party numbers.
I was told we were all offered their old rooms back and perhaps as I was out for a few hours, we missed the option. We asked two residents concerned, they said this was not the case.
