My wife and I have just returned from a week long stay at this little gem. The hotel has a clifftop location with stunning views of Tropea and Stromboli. Given its name, you won't be surprised to hear that the hotel is small. I can't say for sure home many rooms but there aren't that many. And it was quiet...seriously peaceful and just what we needed. It's also spotlessly clean with super friendly staff. Special shout out to Francesca in the roof top bar...nothing was too much trouble. It is a 5 minute stroll into Parghelia where there are a number of bars, cafes and restaurants, and around 5 minutes into Tropea using the complimentary shuttle. There is also a shuttle down to the beach close to Tropea harbour (again, complimentary). You can also walk down to the beaches and coves of Parghelia (takes between 3-10 minutes depending upon which one you choose). They were busy but I guess you should expect this in August.

Small hotel, spotlessly clean. All the staff were very friendly. Good choice at breakfast, served on the roof terrace which was such a beautiful setting. Fabulous sunsets from there too and great view of Stromboli. Evening meals were served next door at the sister hotel. Not a huge choice but there was always something we liked and the pasta dishes were most enjoyable. We used the shuttle bus to go to the beach and to Tropea. We also caught the train from Parghelia station to visit Pizzo and Scilla. The station at Pizzo is quite a way from the town, but there are tuk tuks available to use.

Lovely hotel, the staff were all amazing! The terrace was perfect to sit out and have a drink of an afternoon/evening. Rooms were clean, and the cleaning staff did an excellent job through the week. Breakfast was great, excellent selection. There's a shuttle bus down to the beach, but we walked down to the beach or town. Not a huge amount to do on the area, but lovely to come and relax. The one thing that was a bit odd was the evening meals, which we did find a bit hit and miss at times. The first night was a bit of a low point (tiniest piece of sea bass I've ever seen, and for desert the 'fruit' which was the only option was an unripe nectarine each and a bunch of grapes). There were also some very bizarre side dishes (for example a plate of Brussel sprouts). If you are a fussy eater (luckily we are not) I think you may struggle. Overall the hotel was lovely, I'd come back on a bed and breakfast basis.

This was our first visit to this wonderful family run hotel. The staff were amazing throughout our stay and very attentive. The hotel was exceptionally clean and quiet, yet in a good spot to visit Tropea which we walked to, but the hotel has a regular shuttle bus. The view from the terrace of Tropea and Stromboli volcanic Island was spectacular. The breakfast and evening meals were wonderful and all freshly made with lots of choice. The whole staff team work so hard to ensure you have a truly wonderful time. We normally do not go back to the same place, however on our return to the UK have booked again with this hotel for next year. This in our books is definitely a hidden gem that is faultless and we would highly recommend.

we have just returned from hotel piccolo and what a great hotel this is.All the staff here go the extra mile to ensure your time here is very enjoyable. The food is really good and a great choice for breakfast and the evening meals are to die for. The hotel provides a mini bus to the beach and also Tropea. Also a mention for Micheal who made us a cocktail or two at the poolside bar.we will be coming back

We have just returned from a week's stay at this gorgeous hotel. The location, food, staff were simply amazing. The hotel had a nice mix of Italians, Germans, French and British guests who were all really friendly. We met a few people from the U.K.who we shared a couple of drinks with who were really nice. We used the hotel shuttle bus a few times to Tropea and the local beach but we just wish we had travelled further afield ( Scilla, Pizzo on the train or one of the boat trips from Tropea ). We had intended to have a meal one night in Tropea but the food was so good, we ate in the hotel every night. The staff from Alessandro and Emmanuela to all of the hardworking waitresses, Michael ( French barman) Francesca, Tony ( drove the minibus ) and to the cleaner who cleaned our room ( 12 ). Considering it was August we couldn't believe how peaceful the rooftop terrace was during the day, although people were probably exploring the lovely area of Calabria. We would definitely return to this wonderful, chilled and relaxing hotel.

Everyone was so friendly and clearly enjoyed their job. I felt so comfortable! They offer bus service to the beach club and center tropea. Tony was specifically kind to us and we were very grateful. Even if you travel solo you will love this hotel.

What a little gem this hotel is. Beautiful setting, beautiful food and beautifully run by a lovely family. Immaculately clean rooms, a gorgeous roof top terrace for breakfast and after dinner drinks. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach and into Tropea. Cannot recommend highly enough. I cannot wait to return. Simply perfect! Thank you!
