Hotel Régence Etoile

This hotel is magnificent. The location is wonderful – it's a 2-minute walk to the Arch and a 25-minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. The rooms are tiny but very well-designed (they have a fridge, air conditioning, and a comfortable soft bed). Breakfasts are decent, and there's room service available until 11:30 PM with a menu. The staff is very responsive.

We upgraded to a balcony room with an Arc de Triomphe view. The young Chinese lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful. The baguette at breakfast was especially delicious, and they even had dumplings. Paris wasn't hot, so we slept with the air conditioning off at night.

Extremely, incredibly dirty. There were tiny flies everywhere, it was unbearable. They didn't have any other rooms to switch to, and we couldn't even cancel the second night.

The room was much more spacious than I expected and had excellent natural light. The mattress was just right—not too soft, not too hard—and very comfortable. What really impressed me was the soundproofing; I slept soundly all night. The bathroom had a great walk-in shower with strong water pressure and instant hot water, plus all the amenities you could need. It's also super convenient for shopping, just a 5-minute walk from the Champs-Élysées.
