The People - Paris Marais Reviews

Great location, right by the subway exit. However, I have to complain about the water. Showering was a nightmare – you had to constantly press the button, and the water pressure was terrible. For my last night of a three-night stay, there was no hot water at all. The sink water was also barely a trickle; it took forever to even fill a cup to brush my teeth. The room wasn't cleaned during my stay if no one checked out, and the trash wasn't emptied either. When I checked in, I specifically asked for a room not facing the street, but after dragging my luggage upstairs, I found out it was indeed a street-facing room, and it was incredibly noisy. Non-street-facing rooms seem to be very rare here.

Friendly staff, easy reception process, comfortable bed, clean bathrooms, good breakfast and great location with metro located half block and few good cafes. The river and boats are 10 minutes walk. This is the second time I’ve stayed at People of Marais.

I had a nice stay here. The room was clean, the bathroom was good, and the location felt safe. Overall, it was comfortable and worth staying at.

The location is fantastic! It's a direct metro ride from the train station, and also a direct metro to the Louvre. Plus, it's an easy walk to Notre Dame and other nearby attractions. The area felt safe at night, perfect for enjoying the Seine's evening views. The front desk service was excellent. You can pay for breakfast here, which is handy since most French restaurants don't open until after 10 AM. The shared bathrooms could use a bit more attention in terms of cleanliness. Overall, it offers great value for money.

The place was far away from everything, atleast a 30-35 min tube. The room itself felt extremely stuffy. We were there for 3 nights but the beddings weren’t changed and the room wasn’t cleaned even once either. The showers didnt have running hot water so had to limit the number of showers i could take.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Notre Dame and the Louvre, and there's a metro station right downstairs. The room and bathroom were both very clean, with no strange odors, and were cleaned daily. Overall, it offers great value for money.

The hotel is in the city center, so it's really convenient to take the subway to all the attractions. The shower in the public bathhouse is a bit annoying for water-saving reasons; you have to constantly hold the button down for water, otherwise, it shuts off after about ten seconds. Also, there were a lot of kids, so it was quite noisy.

The shower is not hot enough and the water flow is too smallllllll. Got sick finally.. the rest is not bad, just you will need to borrow the air dryer in reception.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this hostel! The facilities are top-notch and the environment is very well-maintained, but what truly stands out is the staff. On my first night, I struggled to sleep due to a loud snorer in my room. When I brought this up the next morning, the team was incredibly understanding and professional—they seamlessly moved me to a different room without any hassle. I’ve slept like a baby ever since! A special mention to the lady at the front desk—she is so kind and always greets you with a warm smile and a sweet 'Merci.' It’s those small, genuine interactions that made me feel so welcome in Paris. This place is proof that a hostel can be both high-quality and full of heart. Highly recommended!

Location was ok, very quiet and safe for females even at night. Metro is just few steps away from hotel and the hotel itself is really big and spacious. Not the best facilities tho but for the price i guess it makes sense. Lights on my bunk bed doesn’t work at all, no air conditioning and the nightmare was the lift was under maintenance for 2 days. 😩

Showers: The communal shower on the fourth floor feels more spacious, has a larger showerhead, and hooks, compared to the one in the room. Storage: Card payment is more convenient; you might not have coins. It's a maximum of 9 euros per day (remember to enter the locker number first, then the password when opening later). Supermarket: There's a chain supermarket, bookstore, and coffee shop nearby, across the street. Roommates: Mostly from neighboring European countries, very pleasant to chat with. Kitchen: You can boil water. Chinese guests might want to buy bottled water from the supermarket as the tap water has a slight taste. You can also heat baguettes, and all sorts of cutlery are available.

Overall, it was pretty good, with a couple minor issues: when the room was crowded, there was a slight odor (which is normal and understandable); during peak hours, the hot water wasn't very hot (but it was fine during off-peak times). For this price and location, what more could you ask for? It's already excellent!

I stayed at this hostel for 6 nights and was quite satisfied. The beds have curtains and there are lounges on each floor. The only downside is that only the 4th floor has a kitchen, which can get quite crowded. Also, the luggage storage in the basement might involve repeat charges, which is a bit of a hassle.

The location is nice near metro. Can walk to the city Staffs are very nice
