Your 1b, 1ba Cottage comes with a dual-heated, King bed and a pellet stove with a backup gas heater. The Cottage sits on 10 acres+, unlike 1-2 acre or less, packed areas like Kachina Village, Mountain Aire, Baderville, Doney Park, or Sherwood Forest, which are tightly packed neighborhoods. These “city neighborhood styled areas” are NOT desirable; mixed communities with nice houses and junk properties intermingled and virtually no land or easy forest/wildland access. At The Cottage, you will not be in a suburban or semi-rural neighborhood. You’ll be staying far from local cities. This is a free-standing, remote, deep-in-the forest place with a gorgeous view of the famous Spring Valley and mountain views of Mt. Sitgreaves. Walking, hiking, biking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing start at your door. The Cottage is a separate home, with living room, kitchen, bedroom, bath, & dining nook. Kitchenware and utensils, salt, pepper & some spices stocked for your convenience. The Cottage is nestled in 40ft-75ft pines, the perfect place for a weekend getaway deep in the Kaibab National Forest. Whether you’re looking to beat the heat of The Valley, Havasu, Tucson, So California or Vegas, or for a serene trip, a romantic getaway, or an adventure vacation, or even a honeymoon, this is the place. You'll love the "no air conditioning needed" comfort of The Cottage. Open, crack or close windows to adjust your room temp. This property was initially developed in 1990 by the Wrigley Family. Yes. Wrigley Field (Chicago Cubs), Wrigley Chewing Gum. Known by legacy as “The Wrigley Ranch,” it’s the last vestige of the once incredibly expansive, former land holding of one of America's most prestigious families. Horseback Riding available on site, guided or unguided riding right here all year 'round! Also Target Shooting & 4wd Tours are usually available March 15 - Nov 15! (Weather restrictions may apply. Add'l costs apply. Visa, MC, Cash. More details below.)Friendly dogs welcome. But they MUST be perfectly controlled by voice commands OR must be on leash. Dogs may not be left alone in cottage unless we approve in advance. Incessant barking is banned by law. Unless you can absolutely control you dog(s) please don't bring them. No felines (cats) unless we approve in writing in advance. No Pit Bulls or Rottweilers, however. Over 500 canine guests so far. As remote as this may be, you'll be safe and secure as we are here on property to assist in any unusual or emergency situation. We have never had such an occurrence. However, we do have clear and efficient plans for any unexpected emergency. We have many motion sensor night lights. Free amenities include pellet stove fuel & gas BBQ fuel. BBQ tools included. Bring your own fire pit wood or buy here for only $10 per 12 add'l pieces. Tarry on out to our pond and enjoy sitting on our glider/bench while the ducks frolic. If you like, bring fresh fruits and veggies to hand feed all the free-grazing birds. Horses love carrots and apples! Take the goats for a walk.Walk freely on our 10 acre property plus its 30 acre add’l fenced forest land or just head out onto walking/ski trails to Spring Valley Tank where elk, antelope and deer get their water. Continue your hike on 1000s upon 1000s of acres on the Sitgreaves mountain range or Spring Valley Knoll.Fishing at local lakes most Spring, Summer and Fall. Many lakes are nearby in Williams including Cataract, Kaibab, Dogtown and White Horse lakes. Grand Canyon a little over an hour due North. Bearizona drive-thru wildlife park about 13 miles West. Sedona and its Red Rock majesty about an hour SE. Meteor Crater and Painted Desert about 45 mins East. Out of Africa wildlife park and indoor shooting range about 1:15 SE. Verde Valley Railroad in Clarkdale, next to Cottonwood. SnowBowl winter ski resort and its Summer Fun activities nearby in Flagstaff. Folks often ask how close walking trails are. Start at The Cottage’s door and virtually head out! Take a 2 mile RT flat walk to Spring Valley Tank, a very popular watering hole for all thirsty wildlife around here on the Spring Valley X-Country Ski Trail. Take a hike or dirt bicycle ride to Shulz Pass and see its gorgeous high mountain meadows about 1 mile past Spring Valley Tank. Or for near 360 degree views of most of Northern Arizona’s highest peaks plus a glimpse of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, take a 4 mile hike due East to Lone Tree Lookout, about 1/2 mile past Spring Valley Knoll. And if you dare and you’re in high altitude climbing condition, try mountain hiking to the peak of Mt. Sitgreaves due West of here. No fire roads. No trails unless you stumble upon an elk trail. No Wi-Fi because of satellite bandwidth limitations/costs. No cell phone reception because you're too deep in the woods! To use your cell phone, you'll need to drive out to the prairie about 2 miles down the road.Max stays: 9 nights. 650-700 sq ft is an estimated cottage size; what we were told when we purchased the property."Emergency" hosted laundry services for spills on bedding at $25 per load (wash and dry). Dream getaway cabin/house with incredible views close to the best Arizona has to offer. The 3 acre property borders the Kaibab National Forest and is home to the highest remaining density and distribution of old growth ponderosa pines in the Southwest. A gorgeous view of the San Francisco Peaks and Snowbowl is seen from the front deck and living room and a perfect view of Mt. Kendrick from the yard. This high-country retreat is fully connected with STARLINK wi-fi, direct -TV with HBO on a flat screen tv, and cell-phone reception on Verizon or forward your calls to the land line. Peace, quiet and solitude is built-in or take a short drive to: Flagstaff (30min) with it’s great college-town vibe, shopping and nightlife; Sedona (45min) with the stunning beauty of the red rocks, Oak Creek and art galleries; or Williams, (30min) the gateway to the Grand Canyon with it’s old-school Route 66 charm. Just minutes off of I-40 and only 1 hour to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, glimpses of which can be seen up a hill a 10 min hike from the front door. The house has a huge king size bed in the lower main bedroom and a queen in the upstairs loft. There is cushy queen blow up mattress for extra sleepers. There are 2 full private bathrooms one upstairs and one down. The kitchen is really nice, relaxing to cook in and fully stocked with everything a home chef would desire. Toss a ball with your kids in the yard or sprawl out on the comfortable southwest furniture in front of the wood-burning stove and enjoy the view. Cozy and romantic yet spacious enough for 2+ couples or a sizeable family. Nature is poetry here. Fields of wildflowers in the summer and magical snow in the winter. The wildlife is bountiful: herds of elk and mule deer are seen roaming the meadows most every evening. It is a birders paradise- one afternoon brought 17 different birds to the feeder. Some of Arizona’s best day hikes are a short drive away. There are many things to do in the area including the Historic Grand Canyon Railway, Bearizona, the Grand Canyon Deer Farm, Snow Bowl, Lowell Observatory, N. Arizona Nordic Center, Elk Ridge Sledding Area, Sedona Pink Jeep Tours and a lot more. Stay here and unwind with the fresh mountain air and spectacular views or make it an exceptional base camp for fun and adventure! Keywords: cabin, home, houseAbout pets:Pets allowed: dogs and cats (limit 3 total).Pet friendly.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About checkIn:Check in after 3:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About events:No events allowed.

This beautifully decorated, multi-level home, is located on 5-acres in the tall pines of Kaibab National Forest. Nestled in Parks midway between Flagstaff and Williams, this location allows easy access to many attractions such as National Parks, hiking trails, ski slopes, museums, etc. You can also just relax on the porch or play yard games. This is not your typical commercial rental unit! It's our family vacation home that we lovingly decorated with antiques gathered through the years. We would be delighted to have you stay here and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. The Space:Welcome to Mountain Time Manor! Our home is the perfect choice for groups, families or gatherings of friends looking for a comfortable place to stay. With 6 bedrooms, 4 full baths and two generous common areas, you'll have plenty of room to relax and unwind. When you turn onto the Forest Service Road, there will be two gates to open. There might be cows on the National Forest land. If the gates are open, leave them open. If the gates are closed, kindly close them behind you and drive on up to park in the 4-car driveway or the expansive 2-car garage, there is also additional parking available anywhere on the gravel. When you come into the house through the garage, you can drop your coats and boots off in the mudroom. The laundry room right next door is equipped with a full size washer, dryer, ironing board and full bath. Walking into the main house, you will find a spacious, fully stocked kitchen, breakfast nook and adjacent dining room. Down the hall is a full bathroom and three guest rooms, affectionately named the Cowboy Room, the Ansel Adams Room and the Band Room. In accordance with the antique decorating style, all the beds are full sized because that was the only size in the olden days. The living room hosts an old wood burning stove that keeps the majority of downstairs warm. The entire house is climate controlled with AC and heater as well. The stairs lead up to the large second story living area with two bedrooms, a full bathroom and a kitchenette, perfect for lounging, watching movies or playing games. One room has two double beds and the other has two twin beds. Both rooms upstairs have cozy window nooks for reading, watching wildlife or just enjoying the scenic views of the forest. Due to the stairs, please understand the second level is not recommended for mobility impaired persons. At the foot of the stairs, you will find the master bedroom. This is where you'll find a convenient workspace with a tabletop computer, fast speed internet and a printer available for your use. The attached custom master bath boasts a claw foot bathtub to soak and relax from the day's activities. You can go straight out the front door to relax on the wrap around porch, read on the porch swing or play bowling ball croquet in the front yard. Speaking of the outdoors, our home offers a large sandstone patio designed for social gatherings with a table, plenty of seating, a fire pit and BBQ grill for your enjoyment. You'll notice an original historic building built in the 1800's opposite the driveway. There's also an original outhouse to go with it. Though you can't take a peek inside, please enjoy our own little piece of Arizona heritage from the outside. The hosts are just a quick phone call away if you should need anything...Guest Access:You will enter through the side garage door. The home utilizes a key lockbox. Codes are emailed with check-in instructions by VRBO 48 hours prior to arrival. Other Things to Note:Please keep dogs on leash when outside at all times. Although the property is entirely fenced, it is not secure enough to keep dogs in. Our neighbors have livestock and we cannot risk dogs chasing them or the cows that graze on forest land across the road. In the winter time, Old Highway 66 and Spring Valley Road are plowed by the County road crews. Forest Service 440 Road is plowed by the residents who live along the road. We will clear Forest Service 440 Road and the driveway of snow before you arrive but in the chance that it snows while you are staying here, guests can either drive over the snow or clear the snow with shovels provided in the shed. Be aware that when snow melts, it turns to ice overnight, so be careful walking and driving. Behind the garage, there is a shed where you can find a snow shovel, broom and squeegee for snow removal.
