I've been to Pattaya dozens of times, but this was my first stay at an Ibis here. I arrived two days early, and my planned hotel was too expensive for a last-minute booking. So, I figured the Ibis, being right across the street from my main hotel, would be fine for two nights. I was so wrong; it was genuinely awful.
The small room size was manageable, but the shower was so tiny you couldn't even turn around. Plus, there was no charging outlet by the bed, which is incredibly inconvenient nowadays. The bathroom floor also accumulated water very easily. They require a 1000 baht deposit at check-in, and the front desk service wasn't good either.
At just over 200 baht a night, it was definitely cheap, and I wasn't expecting much, given the price and the good location – just a few minutes' walk to the beach. Big C is right across the street, and Tiffany's Show is next door. But it was truly terrible. I booked for two nights but checked out after one, and the hotel flat-out refused to refund my money. ❌
