Terrapuri Heritage Village, Penarik

Stayed for 3 nights. Overall, this place has so much potential. The kampung ambience is so peaceful and inviting. The old Istana (palace) transformed into rooms gave the kampung lifestyle feels. Just walking distance to the beach and the scenery of the whole resort is tranquil. Nevertheless, suggest to clean and restore the pond around the resort. Re-do the whole landscaping around the resort and plant all the local flowers, fruit trees and herbal plants. And to install more solar lights. With this new facelift of the whole sorroundings, will surely invite repeating guests. Shoutout to the friendly staffs too. (P/S: suggests to invest on bed bug spray for each room too)

Great, quiet environments, kampung style living. 1 min walk to very beautiful beach

In a isolated location on the beach near the low key village Penarik a number of raised wooden, historic bungalow-style rooms are sprinkled throughout a low key garden. Rustic style rooms and bathroom are well appointed and quite comfortable. Lovely pool area and across the road from deserted beach. Disappointed with the food as was looking forward to experiencing some local, genuine Malay food, however, the menu is 80% western and 20% local with fried rice, fried noodles and chicken satay. Not even a local curry or laksa on the menu. Very uninspiring dining experience. Friendly service with limited English.

Interesting, unique and impressive site with 19 traditional malay houses. However, the hospitality aspect is way below standard. There is no service and no management. There were several moments and situations during my stay to show évidences. No tower provided on the pool, no welcome upon arrival, staff with no training and ni english Skills,…quality of food and drinks is low. No coffee available for exemple, only basic nescafe. Surely not worth pay ing rm 500+ for a night. Better do like locals, come in to take photos for an hour and go. Way over rated and opportunity to turn the place to a gem waisted

My wife and I spent the night in one of the villas and had a magical time. This is a compound of 100 year old plus villas that have been beautifully restored, with beautiful dark wood rooms and furniture and modern bathrooms with soaking tubs and ceiling showers. It is bordered on one side by the jungle and on the other by the ocean. The grounds and infiniti pool are gorgeous. The owner collects antiques and they are spread around the grounds and in the rooms. This is one of those places where you can feel the history. A memorable and worthy stay.

Truly admire the work and dedication put in to preserve the traditional heritage houses. I had a lovely stay at beautiful Setiu and wish to thank the team for their warm hospitality.

Extended my stay and that explains it all.
