Philadelphia Marriott Downtown

The room was really old and felt very strange – unusually high ceilings, and the space was abnormally large and dim. I booked a tower room, expecting a new high-rise, but it turned out to be in a creepy, century-old building (not the main hotel building). Huge disappointment! The location wasn't great either; even though it's in the heart of Philadelphia, it felt a bit dirty and run-down.

Upon entering, I found there was no drinking water, and the bedsheets had noticeable stains, which immediately brought down the overall experience. While the bathroom facilities were complete, the general maintenance felt a bit subpar and didn't meet the brand standards I expected. ✨ **Overall Impression** If your main priority is easy access to explore central Philadelphia, this location is an excellent choice. Great location right in the city center, and right across from Reading Terminal Market, which has tons of food and fresh produce. The service was efficient; even with a conference happening, check-in wasn't a long wait. The facilities are well-maintained and don't look old, and the cleanliness was excellent. Overall, it's a great choice for a business trip or vacation in Philadelphia.

The location is great, right outside is a 23-hour 7-Eleven, and there are restaurants nearby that are open until 10 PM. The price is quite good for this star rating. However, when I tried to call housekeeping around noon, I found the phone was out of order. Even after I informed the front desk in person, the room wasn't cleaned all day. To make things worse, I happened to be there during an Indian convention with 3,000 attendees staying at the hotel. The elevators stopped on every floor, filled with the smell of onion curry, and people were still visiting each other's rooms at 3 AM...
