Kimpton HOTEL MONACO PHILADELPHIA by IHG

The location is excellent, right next to the Liberty Bell and the old City Hall, with a great surrounding area and plenty of restaurants. Many Philadelphia attractions are within walking distance. The hotel has a lot of history, and the rooms are clean, but the hallway had a strong paint smell, probably from a recent door renovation.

The rooms were nice and quite comfortable. The park view rooms were good, but the rooms with an inner courtyard but no view were a few hundred yuan cheaper. It depends on your individual situation, so you need to find out beforehand. The online descriptions weren't clear enough. We arrived at the hotel and found out that the rooms faced the inner courtyard, so we had to pay extra to change to another room. Luckily, there were still rooms available.

I'm nineteen this year, traveling alone. I'm in Philadelphia to study at Penn, and I chose this hotel because it looked nice. The hotel is in the Old Town, and at first, seeing so many Black people made me a little scared and gave me goosebumps, but they were all very nice, and I immediately felt at ease. I spent three hours studying calculus on a mediocre bed. Overall, it was pretty good, and very suitable for a short stay.
