"We stayed at Zhidey, Phuentsholing one night each at entry and exit from Bhutan. The rooms are very good & comfortable with all essential amanities. Its comparatively a new property slightly away from main market area and at higher elevation in the town. We needed taxi to reach the hotel from & to Bhutan immigration gate. The food quality is good, though buffet spread is limited but with sufficient variety keeping mainly Indian tourists in mind."

"Worst Stay Experience – Highly Not Recommended I had an extremely disappointing experience at Hotel Tashi Namgay Grand, Phuentsholing. The property is very poorly maintained and far from what one would expect from a hotel in this category. The rooms were in terrible condition, with clear hygiene issues—there were cockroaches and even mice, which made the stay very uncomfortable and unacceptable. The bathrooms had a strong, unpleasant stench, indicating a serious lack of cleanliness and upkeep. Basic amenities were not functioning properly—fans were not working, adding to the discomfort. The most shocking part of the experience was the behaviour of the staff, especially the receptionist. Instead of addressing the concerns professionally, the receptionist was extremely rude and uncooperative. When we raised complaints about the poor facilities and slow service, we were actually threatened to vacate the rooms, which is completely unacceptable for any hospitality establishment. Overall, the experience was far below expectations in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service. I strongly advise travellers to avoid booking this hotel."

"Very bad experience. After waiting for 5 hrs we got the room , the AC did not work, did not provide toilet kit, food was bad and overall the behaviour of the staff was so rude! Overall the experience was just terrible."

"Very disappointing experience at Hotel Evergreen 9, Phuentsholing. The food service was honestly uncomfortable and insulting. They kept asking every guest whether they were veg or non-veg, and one staff member literally stood over us while serving food, counting pieces of chicken and limiting everyone to just 2 pieces. Guests were not even allowed to take dal or food on their own. It felt like the staff was monitoring every item on our plates instead of letting guests eat peacefully. Many other guests around us were also visibly upset and discussing the same issue. Hospitality should make guests feel welcomed, not treated like beggars for food. Definitely one of the worst hotel dining experiences I’ve had."
