The Beach Heights Resort

A good hotel by Thai standards. The location is super. Everything is nearby: 7-Eleven, KFC, a laundry, a fruit market, massage parlors, and cafes. It's a 10-minute walk to Kata Beach and 15 minutes to Karon. The rooms are spacious, clean, and free of any unpleasant odors. I stayed in different rooms; in some of them, the water was lukewarm instead of hot. Nice swimming pool, and there's a mini-gym that opens at 7 AM, which is very convenient. We booked without breakfast, so I can't say anything about that.

The room smelled of dampness, but overall the hotel is great for a 3-day stay and features a small swimming pool.

The front desk staff were very welcoming. They even put the 3000 THB deposit in an envelope and sealed it, to be returned upon check-out. The room was clean, but the building had a slight musty smell, giving it a serviced apartment feel. There's a balcony where little birds come to visit. The only downside is that the air conditioning blows directly onto the bed, and the room felt a bit damp.

The pool is nice and the room is okay. The plumbing is a bit outdated, but the staff are very helpful.

The hotel is very well located, not far from the beach, with many restaurants nearby, and especially a 7-Eleven right next door. The staff is excellent, and I even received a small token of appreciation. The breakfast is good.

So, our stay at this hotel is over, and here is what I can say: 1. Honestly, if it had been listed as a 3-star hotel, we wouldn't have had any questions at all. That's the main point. 2. There are many mirrors that nobody ever cleans, which is unpleasant, and housekeeping in general is quite half-hearted. 3. The Wi-Fi drove my husband crazy because it simply doesn't work in the room. 4. You have to wait for hot water, and when it finally arrives, you constantly have to adjust it with cold water. Given that I was washing my child, I had to stay on high alert in case scalding water suddenly started pouring out. 5. I remember staying at a hotel where people often wrote that the pools were dirty, but they were actually clean. Here, everyone says the pool is clean, but in my opinion, it's a bit cloudy and has a lot of debris in it. 6. Coming back from the beach? Go wash the sand and salt off in your room because the outdoor shower by the pool is just a pathetic trickle. 7. The air conditioning compressor unit is located right on your balcony, which makes it rather noisy. 8. The hotel is a bit old, so a lot of things are worn out, but it's still quite acceptable. Anyway, the price was reasonable, but will we return? Unlikely.

About a 10-minute walk from Kata Beach, and it was just right for a solo stay. The staff were extremely friendly. I wasn't happy with the room view at first, but they were great about changing it for me. I used the swimming pool every day, and there's a happy hour at the pool bar from 4:00 to 6:30 PM.

Super value for money! The rooms are cleaned daily, and the bed linen is changed every day. It is located in a nice, quiet area where you can truly relax. It's a 12-minute leisurely walk to the sea, and there is a good 7-Eleven nearby, plus a large [supermarket/store].
