Katathani Phuket Beach Resort

We booked the Thani Wing and checked in late at night. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, offering water and refreshing towels, and even helped bring our luggage to the room. We stayed in room 5217, directly facing the pool and the ocean. The view was absolutely stunning; we could enjoy the beautiful sea view every day without even leaving the room. The hotel bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, a bathtub, and a good range of toiletries. The only things not provided were combs and disposable razors. Since the water quality in Phuket isn't great, I'd recommend bringing your own filtered shower head. The room facilities were decent. The fridge cooled very well, and with the air conditioning and ceiling fan constantly running, it never felt humid. Domestic chargers worked directly without needing an adapter. The buffet breakfast at the Thani Wing was excellent. In the fruit section, we found rambutan and mangosteen, which are quite uncommon. The breakfast offered a mix of Western and Asian options, including various curries, Greek yogurt, and Thai rice noodles, making it quite comprehensive. There were several swimming pools, large enough for both children and adults to swim without bothering each other. The hotel also offered services like SPA, massage, and nail care, making it very convenient to enjoy these without leaving the premises. Now for the downsides: On the evening of June 24th, there was a heavy downpour, and the weather was muggy. Numerous white ants started appearing in the room, crawling onto the bed, bedside tables, and even on us. We reported this to the Trip.com customer service. They asked if we wanted to change rooms or get a refund. Since it was already past midnight, we didn't opt for a room change. The customer service representative said they would ask the hotel to send pest control products. However, afterwards, we found that the hotel never sent any pest control products and offered no explanation. This was truly terrible 👎

It wasn't as bad as online reviews suggested; I really liked it here and would stay again next time I'm in Phuket. I didn't feel targeted at all.

Extremely satisfied! We stayed in the Veri Wing; the room was very new and had no strange smells. We were on the third floor, and all the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The hotel breakfast, however, was really not good – I ate toast and a fried egg for three days straight. Definitely a 'white people' breakfast, but the hotel perfectly balances satisfying kids with a play area and adults with relaxation. Highly, highly recommend! BUT, on the last day, I had a slight disagreement with a staff member at the children's souvenir shop. I had already paid, but wanted to exchange an item. The staff seemed quite reluctant, but after I repeatedly asked 'why,' they eventually, and rather angrily, refunded me the difference.

This hotel had mixed reviews online, but my actual stay was fantastic, especially the ocean view. I booked two nights and requested a room with a good view on the third floor. However, when I checked in, the front desk informed me that those rooms were full and assigned me a room on the first floor next to the lobby for the first night, with a promise to switch me the next day. But it turned out to be quite convenient, with easy access in and out. So, when they called the next morning to switch me, I politely declined. When the weather is clear, the view of Phuket's Kata Beach is truly stunning. The hotel staff also had excellent service. If you're traveling with kids and want to enjoy the water, you can just cross the street to the beach, where there are staff maintaining order. For those who just want to relax and enjoy the view, this place is a no-brainer.

They only give the worst rooms to Chinese guests. I booked a suite, but they gave me a room in the most remote corner, right above a renovation site. I knew there would be discrimination. I even tucked 100 baht into my passport beforehand, but they still wouldn't give me a good room. I was going to let it go, but then the bellhop just stood in our room waiting for a tip. Later, I found out the duvet was dirty. Is this the standard for a five-star hotel's hygiene? I was so angry I went straight to the front desk to complain. They claim to be a 'Chinese-friendly' hotel, but literally no one spoke Chinese. I argued with them using a translator for a long time until they finally gave us the room type we originally booked. Coincidentally, there was another Chinese auntie checking in, and she also got the worst room in the same building as us. When we went back to our old room to get our luggage after changing rooms, we realized that entire building was full of Chinese guests.

Facilities: The room facilities are renovated, with a slight smell of new decoration. Hygiene: The hygiene is acceptable. Environment: The working area environment is decent, but the beach is indeed a bit dirty. Service: The service was quite good, no discrimination against Chinese guests.

Booked the Villi House quite a while ago for a trip with the kids, and it truly lived up to expectations! My children absolutely loved it; they were thrilled as soon as we entered the room. They especially enjoyed the wave pool, and the kids' club was also great – my daughter made lots of friends from both home and abroad. The scenery around the Tani House is beautiful, and walking on the large lawn was very relaxing. We caught many big crabs and hermit crabs on the beach. All in all, the kids had a blast, which made us happy. My only minor gripe is that there was quite a bit of trash on the beach; it would be even better if it could be cleaned more regularly.

For this price point, the facilities and service are what you'd expect. Overall, there are no major issues; it's quite good for a family-friendly hotel.

There are multiple pools to choose from, and the rooms are clean, spacious, and offer great ocean views. The service is consistently excellent, with warm and attentive staff. Dining, spa, and kids' facilities are all well-appointed. The environment is quiet and therapeutic, making it an ideal choice for a relaxing getaway. It offers both great value for money and an amazing experience – a sure bet, you won't be disappointed!
