The manager is very nice, very enthusiastic, and the arrangements are very thoughtful. The location of the hotel is also very good, just a 10-minute walk from the Ferry. The scenery is also very good, and the restaurants and supermarkets downstairs are very close.

Wonderful small hotel - good location and wonderful food and staff. The breakfast was terrific and we loved everything about our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the B&B and would highly recommend it. The bed and breakfast has three rooms (a large bedroom, a jr suite, and two room suite), is located just a half a block from the main street and a few minutes walk to the harbor, and, in my view, is the place to stay. They key to this B&B is the owner and chef Juliearna…and her team (big shout out to Lukas and Pima! ). There is no question that Juliearna, Lukas and Pima really made our stay. When you stay at a bed and breakfast, you want to feel like you are a guest in someone’s home. And that is what it felt like. Staying with some good friends. Juliearna’s attention to detail in terms of the layout and furniture in the rooms, the people she hires and trains, the terrific service they give, and the food, all make it a very enjoyable, and homey, place to stay. Juliearna was Michelin trained in France and it shows. Both at breakfast (French omelets) and dinner (although she mentioned to me that she is likely to stop doing the dinners as it’s a bit much after all these years and as she deals with her various other businesses …see my separate review of the restaurant…which I highly recommend if she is still doing it). We had a large suite (the modern suite), which had a very large living room and separate bedroom. Both rooms were appointed nicely and functionally. It also had a shared balcony (with the room next door) which was nice to relax on. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom, while very large (huge walk in shower and huge bathtub), but with all that space it could have used more counter space (I used the edge of the bathtub). Electrical outlets were conveniently located throughout, and were plentiful to plug all our gadgets in (not all hotels or B&B’s have them conveniently located). Parking in rear was available and free. The breakfast was huge, and more than we could eat. And delicious. Freshly baked croissants, yogurt, a fruit bowl, omelet if you wanted, muesli (was a bit more like a granola then muesli) or cereal, juice, coffee and several other items. (Breakfast was included in our room rate, although I understand that not all bookings would have it included. ) A few issues, although none detracted from our stay, or diminishes my recommendation to stay at this B&B over any other B&B or hotel: The price to value is a bit much. It was a large room and nice, but a tad higher than I would have expected for what it was (although the amazing breakfast and people were a huge plus). That said, I don’t know the prices of comparable places in Picton (or if there are even any comparable) I had some problems with the internet going in and out. They likely needed to reboot the gateway (not just the Wi-Fi as I had a strong Wi-Fi signal). While I asked the person there to check it, I don't think they knew how to reset the gateway (vs Wi-Fi). There was no AC. It did get a bit warm in the afternoon and we had to open the windows ....which let bugs in...so

Very well situated for everything in Picton - short walking distant to ferries, restaurants etc.Service was excellent, providing an early breakfast in our room for our early departure. Very spacious historic room. Dined in their restaurant one evening - very good.

A lovely 2 nights at this beautiful property. We were very warmly welcomed and given a glass each of wine or if you preferred a soft drink. A small plate of cheese and biscuits was also in the room. The room was lovely but still retained its old charm. We enjoyed the large roll topped bath rather than a shower for a change. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection from continental to a cooked breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Parking on site at the rear. Staff were superb. We couldn’t fault it.

We checked into the 'modern' suite for a night. It was extremely spacious, the bath heavenly, and location great. In saying that, there was a lot that let down the entire experience 'Modern' was a far cry from the decor; think kitsch or gaudy, which we thought was somewhat comical. The room is also located directly above the restaurant, so any music from downstairs comes straight upstairs (so expect to hear it till 11pm at night). Similarly, given there's no air conditioning, your only option is to open the windows, which really immerses you into the music from downstairs. We also decided to dine in the restaurant that evening to help support local. Little did we know this would mean waiting 1 hour for our meals, coupled with a 45 minute wait for some water, and eating some rather questionable 'fish of the day' dish that had some unique flavours that didn't quite pair well (hint: the fare at the Irish Bar is much better, where we dined a couple of nights prior). We also asked for a late check-out however this could not be arranged as an early guest was checking in (on a Sunday nonetheless). An hour after checking out, strangely the room was still bookable online, so the dishonestly was let down. We had high-hopes for this room (especially when you're paying $500+ for the evening), but I would suggest looking elsewhere. Not worth it!

Last stop before the ferry home. We were warmly greeted by Sonya. Lovely cheese platter and glass of wine. The room was lovely. An historic building with calm decor and modern upgrades. We had asked for ground floor and it was spacious. Fabulous breakfast next morning. I had continental and hubby had omelette. Once again we had attentive and professional service. Easy walk to nearby food places.

While Kate (not owner) was very helpful during our stay the formal Suite has: NO Air conditioning - cheap pedestal fan doesn’t cut it NO Blockout Blinds - bright street lights interupt sleep NO refrigerator - milk placed in bowl of ice that melted in minutes NO guest laundry services NO breakfast is included if you book through #Wotif NO wonder the place is listed for sale with a local real estate That said, the rooms are spacious and the bed is firm, but the owners really should grab an Oxford dictionary and look up the meaning of the word ‘Boutique’ because this place simply isn’t :-(
