Pingtan Moon Bay Scenic Resort Hotel

The room was clean, there was a restaurant on the first floor, and a barbecue area on the rooftop in the evenings. There was a swimming pool downstairs where children could play in the water at night. Floor-to-ceiling windows offered views of the starry sky and the sea. The staff were very nice. The only downside was that the room wasn't well-ventilated, and there was still a slight smell from the recent renovations.

This hotel on Dalian Island completely exceeded my expectations! It was clean and hygienic, and the air quality was superb. It was quiet and romantic, and the most stunning part was the unbeatable sea view. Waking up in the morning and drawing back the curtains revealed the entire ocean stretching out before me; every shot was a masterpiece. Being able to immerse myself in the sea view from my bed was truly therapeutic. The hotel staff were also very welcoming. Next time I'm in Pingtan, I'll definitely choose this hotel again.

The hotel opened in July and has a stylish ambiance, reflecting the owner's attention to detail. The entire hotel is decorated in a moon-themed and warm orange color scheme, with moon motifs in the swimming pool, rooftop design, and room amenities. The rooftop is a superb spot for moonrise viewing. The hotel management is very meticulous; every room faces the sea, and check-in is possible by 12:00 PM. I saw four or five staff members cleaning up as soon as guests checked out. The surrounding area is inhabited by local residents and retains its natural ecology. The hotel's dining options are also good. You can go down the steps to dig for seashells and conches on the mudflats after the tide recedes, and I even saw local women carrying oysters up the mudflats. Driving around the island offered many delightful surprises, including windmills and sunset views. Breakfast is served individually; it would be even better if it were more plentiful!

Facilities: The hotel facilities are decent, better than a typical guesthouse. The downsides are the small rooms and the bed facing the toilet. We went there because of the swimming pool, but it was dry the first night. They said it would be full the next morning, but when we checked, there was only a tiny bit of water, about the height of a hand. An hour or two later, it was still just a tiny bit, less than a fifth of the pool's capacity. Very frustrating. Cleanliness: Overall cleanliness was acceptable, but insect control needs improvement. I killed a fly near the bed and a small insect in the bathroom. Environment: The hotel is relatively new and well-maintained. The surrounding scenery isn't great (see photos). The hotel is located on an island off Pingtan Island, far from attractions, making transportation extremely inconvenient. There's no beach opposite, and the scenery is far inferior to Fengche'ao. It's only suitable for road trips. Value for Money: The value for money is terrible. At nearly 900 yuan, it's not as good as Huazhu Club or Orange Hotel. Service: The service was good, but the breakfast was terrible; the dumplings were cold. Afternoon Tea: The afternoon tea was a complete surprise. It consisted of only two cookies, a few raisins, a serving of nuts and raisins (the quantity and variety were less than a small bag of daily nuts from Wolong), three or four cherry tomatoes, and two cups of particularly unpalatable tea. Bar: The bar contained a mini Sprite and a mini Coke.

Located on Dalian Island, the hotel boasts a less crowded and more beautiful environment, a stark contrast to Pingtan County. Facing the Strait Bridge, the hotel offers stunning views. A short walk from the hotel leads to a mudflat where guests can easily go beachcombing and catch plenty of seafood. In the evenings, you can enjoy the breeze and even sing karaoke for free on the rooftop. The hotel is newly opened, with clean and modern facilities; however, it would be even better with more comprehensive amenities. Dalian Island has many hidden gems worth exploring.

Staying at the Moon Bay Hotel in Pingtan was the best decision I made! Upon entering the room, the oversized floor-to-ceiling windows caught my eye. Pulling open the curtains, the ocean unfolded unobstructed – the view was truly breathtaking! The room was simply cozy and comfortable, with soft, comfy bedding. After a day of fun, just lying down on the bed instantly melted away all my fatigue. The bathroom had a well-designed dry and wet area, with consistent hot water supply and comprehensive amenities. The housekeeper service was truly exceptional.
