South Border Design Hotel

This place was a complete disappointment. Around 2 PM on the day of our check-in, we received a call from the manager saying that the staff would only be there until 4 PM, and we would have to check in ourselves after that. So we changed our plans and went to the guesthouse to check in first. We arrived at the guesthouse before 4 PM, but the staff had already left. We had to find the key and check in ourselves using eight "treasure maps" provided by the manager. Upon entering the room, we found that the tables and chairs on the balcony were so dusty you could draw sand art on them, and the window glass looked like it hadn't been washed in six months. Aside from the dusty tablecloth on the TV table, the room was relatively clean overall. The room contained two bowls of instant noodles, two packets of small onion rings, and two cans of soda and bottled water in the refrigerator, but no coffee or tea bags were provided. The butler said on the phone that breakfast was served at 9:30 the next morning in the outdoor dining area outside the reception desk. But then something absurd happened: it was raining in Kenting the next morning, and the wind was strong and cold. We arrived at the dining area at 9:30, braving the wind and rain, but… there was no one there, and no food. It was completely closed. I thought I had misheard and gone to the wrong place, so I immediately called the butler twice, but both times I only got a voicemail. I had to text him, "Where is breakfast served?" After a while, the butler called back saying he was still buying things and asked if we could change it to 10:00. I can't understand it. If you can't arrive by 9:30, you should proactively call the guests instead of assuming you're late and making them come back empty-handed! Let me talk about the breakfast that the staff finally managed to deliver to our room in the rain. Compared to the photos posted online, it seemed to have been significantly reduced in quality. Later, I asked around and heard from other guests that there was a breakfast menu to choose from, and that bread and drinks were refillable. However, since we didn't see a menu at all, nor were we told there was one, we just ate whatever they gave us. This stay was truly an eye-opening experience. It turns out that the trendy items recommended online are actually quite disappointing; it was quite an eye-opener.
