The owner was incredibly kind, enthusiastic, and helpful. They went out of their way to explain the city's layout, which saved me a lot of unnecessary walking. The overall architecture of the inn and the furnishings in the rooms largely retain their original character, striving to preserve the ancient building's authentic appearance. Stepping inside, I almost felt like I was a person from the Ming or Qing dynasty. Highly recommend! If I have another trip to the area, I'll definitely come back.

A beautiful, traditional house with a courtyard. The room was lovely, nice and warm. The location was good, only 10 minutes walk from the main streets. The host was very friendly. The breakfast was traditional chinese which I really enjoyed and made a nice change. A great stay.

The B&B is right in the ancient city. The owner picked me up at the North Gate, which was great. It's super convenient to get to all the attractions within the old town. The B&B itself is beautiful, and it's quiet at night. The breakfast was good, with plenty of side dishes and millet porridge. The owners, a husband and wife, offer fantastic service. Their homemade wine and vinegar are delicious 😋. Thanks for a wonderful Pingyao experience! 😊

The courtyard hotel was very beautiful and in a quiet street. It’s easy enough to reach the bustling South street with just a short walk. The owner was absolutely lovely, he translated everything upon arrival and drew recommendations, suggestions, and all necessary details onto a map of the ancient city. Keep in mind this is an old traditional house, so there are some cracks in the doors, which honestly adds to the charm. Even though the house is old, the heating system was turned on and worked perfectly, which was a big relief. Unfortunately I slept through breakfast, but I’m sure it would have been great. I would absolutely stay there again and recommend it if you want a calm and peaceful retreat!

Pingyao Ancient City is absolutely beautiful! The hotel owner was so kind and lovely, taking us to try local delicacies and wine. And Coco, who did our travel photography makeup, was incredibly professional and meticulous. It was fantastic! Such a wonderful trip.
