A nice and clean hotel with friendly staff. Good to have use of a beach a short walk away with discounted sun bed prices for hotel guests. It was a little further from the centre of the town than we expected but this worked for us as we enjoy a walk in the evening. The location also meant it was closer to the beaches than if you were staying in the town. The only thing that would improve this hotel was for it to have a bar open for guests. There was nowhere to get food or drink after breakfast but it has such a lovely seating area that could be enjoyed even more throughout the day and into the evening if food and/or drinks were served.

A very disappointing stay. The hotel was closing on 11am on the day of our departure (which we did not know) and the hotel staff was more eager to close than to offer a good experience to its visitors. Upon arrival we were informed that the hotel beach would close at 16:00 that day due to a wedding, but although we arrived at the hotel after 14:30, with about 1 hour to spend at the beach, we would still need to pay a full day's price for the sunbeds and umbrella. We indeed reached the beach around 15:00 and were told by the staff there that the beach is already closed! Total disconnect and miscommunication. In addition, we were informed that next day we had to leave at 11am, since it was closing for the season (like allowing the guests to leave in their own pace and close later that evening was not an option...). The room was acceptable, but the shower had unsatisfactory flow and the water was warmish, not really hot. Although we asked for a double bed, we were given a room with 3 singles (really small singe beds). To top this up, the quality of the breakfast was mediocre to say the least and definitely not what one would expect from a 4* hotel. Overall, it felt like no-one cared on whether we were enjoying our stay or not, so I would never choose this hotel again.

The hotel is very unique, clean, and has the boutique vibe. Walkable distance to all the restaurants, dock, and ferry. Beach is beautiful.

This hotel is in a stunning location and the views are fabulous . It’s huge dining area and outside terrace are just delightful. It is rated as a 4 * hotel but although the location, views and rooms are delightful it was not quite the expected standard when it came to staff and efficiency. For a large hotel ( by small island standards) it seemed surprising to have a tired looking receptionist wearing T-shirt and jeans, somehow not giving the best of impressions. We also had disastrous dinner room service experience with unprofessional service from staff. Even the hotel’s own beach charges 15 Euros for its sunbeds compared to most other beaches being 10 Euros per set. As hotel guests it would seem odd to have to pay to use its beach. We went elsewhere close by …..

My girlfriend and I decided to visit Poros as it was reputed to be a real hidden gem. Sitting here as I start writing this review, I can honestly say that it is a tranquil peice of paradise on Earth and well worth a visit by anyone who wants to escape the bustle of Athens for a couple of days. It is a shame, therefore, that our holiday has been so disrupted by the hotel we chose to stay at. I write of the Xenia Poros Image Hotel. You will likely be reading this review prior to booking and will have seen those images of the lovely refurbished rooms with that lovely bedding, the clean and modern furniture and the balconies which overlook the glistening bay and its harbour. You may also have noticed that these ‘Standard Double’ rooms provide an option of selecting a double or a twin option when booking. And so, you’re probably (and quite rightly), expecting your room to look like the one advertised and to have the bed type you selected. You’d be wrong - allow me to recount our experience… We arrived into the harbour and struck by its beauty, sat and had a drink in a local bar prior to catching a taxi up to the hotel (€5 or a lovely 15 min walk). Once at the hotel, it looked quite presentable and we walked up to the desk. Despite having already provided all our check in details online, we were asked to write them all out again - no big deal and so we were provided our key and we walked up the corridor and opened the door. It suffices to say that expectation and reality did not tally. Where a double bed had been expected, two thin and tightly blanketed beds sat in the middle of it. The walls were white and bare and the furniture was sparingly spread around it as if trying to fill the gaps. In short, you’d be happy if you were provided it as an in-patient at the local hospital but it certainly wasn’t the 4 star hotel room advertised. On moving to the balcony, I looked to the right, out towards Aegean and saw beautiful waves and a series of yachts gracefully sailing past us. On looking straight ahead and to my left, the sea view was entirely obstructed by a concrete ramp leading to a badly painted vehicle service entrance and a series of large air conditioning units. I returned to reception. On pointing out that the room wasn’t as advertised on their website and wasn’t a double as ordered, the receptionist responded without hesitation with what was clearly a well-rehe****d retort - “Subject to availability”. On asking what she meant, she simply reiterated that bed type I had chosen was “Subject to availability”. On asking for the manager, I again explained the issue to her. Without hesitation, I again got the same response as she recommended that I read the small print on my booking. So, I pulled my phone out and we both enjoyed a good five minutes scrolling through them together before she finally admitted with visible frustration that no such term actually existed. But this wasn’t the end of the matter - it then became a matte

Hotel is a 10 minute drive to town, has a marina if you don't want to take your car at night into town, marble bathrooms, balcony faces the full view of the town, wifi is good throughout the hotel, free lounge chairs and umbrellas are available at the pool

You can only say positive things about the location of this hotel right on the seafront and only minutes away by taxi. Additionally, there is an hourly water taxi. The rooms are basic but clean. The pool is small but fit for purpose. The breakfast is a typical continental affair. What does really let the hotel down is the poor and slow service of its’ staff. There is relaxed, but then there is something verging on non-existent! I ordered sparkling water in the bar, and they had run out, I ordered my favourite red wine, and they had run out, I asked for the accompanying nuts with drinks and they had run out! When ordering food in the bar area you were waiting over 45 minutes for a simple burger. Unless you rang a number from your mobile phone (difficult. If you don’t have your phone by the pool, I don’t have roaming). You don’t even get any drinks or snacks by the pool. What really concerns me is that it is even so difficult to get still water when you are bathing in such high temperatures. This is a health hazzard. I hadn’t actually booked this hotel. It was booked by a friend who I was travelling with. I wouldn’t visit again, and I wouldn’t recommend based on the poor service. I’d stay more central in the town and closer to the harbour.

We had a very nice experience. Our view from our balcony was spectacular,we could see the whole of Poros city and Harbour. The breakfast buffet had a huge variety to choose from:fruit, cereals, pies, a delicious cake,Greek yogurt, hot dishes, biscuits, cold snacks, coffee, tea, herbal infusions, many kinds of milk to suit every taste and a lot more. The staff was really friendly and polite. The only minus I can think of is the difficulty to find a parking place when the hotel is full and the non-renovated furniture around the swimming pool area. The hotel is good value for money for people who want to relax and explore the sights of the island of Poros.

The food was terrible , out of the content with a lot of things missing from the menu every time . Even if a coin dropped other could hear it from the next room , the room was 100% not value for money as the breakfast also,a lot of the ‘’munchies’’ were not fresh and the ‘’fresh juice ‘’ could be Amita motion no doubt . What can I say!? Only reception stuff and cleaners were kind and good. Don’t forgot to mention waiter unprofessional behavior , low tone and I’m a waiter too so I can say they didn’t know the menu . Stuff 5/10 Kitchen 3/10 Service 3/10 Room 5/10 Hotel 6/10 The first price was 900€ ,totally and absolutely not worth it , not even the 500 we spend € . Avoid it , bad 4 star hotel for real.
