One of the nicer hotels in Port blair. The lobby is very wide and minimalist. Staff took some time to process the check in, need to take photo of our passports and the visa page. The room is spacious, air conditioner was very powerful, bathroom was large enough too. The hotel is walking distance to the clock tower and the Cellular jail. Food wise, the breakfast is served at the top floor and there is an average selection of Indian food items. On one day, we asked them to pack breakfast as we had an early start. They only gave us jam sandwich and some biscuits, it was bad.

The staff was really Kindler and helpfully. They all spoke pretty well english. The Hotel is lokated in the middle of the bazar. But it is quiet. All places are near. The room was big. And clean. Breakfast buffet was Great. We would choose the Hotel again.

We had two separate stays at the hotel. The first on 27th of Dec where we had to sleep in a room with an ac which did not work while the fan made sounds the entire night. The Wi-Fi did not work either. We again had a different stay in J hotel on the 30th, a day before our flight back home. Given the past experience, I specifically addressed the manager to put us up in a better room with a working ac. Turns up, they put us in one of the smallest rooms I’ve ever spent a night in, and that was with two of my other family members. Broken floorboards, visible cement and walls coming off was what they offered us (I have attached images). The AC once again was a dud and could not be controlled. We had to call room service 5 times for basic amenities like a glass for drinking water and shower towels. And of course, the Wi-Fi still SI’s not work. All in all a very very very poor experience, starting from the quality of rooms, to the response we received from the in-hotel staff. It doesn’t even pass the standards of a 1star hotel.
