I had a pleasant stay overall, with several aspects of the guesthouse standing out positively. The room was clean, exceptionally spacious (one of the larger units), and well-maintained. The hostesses were friendly, attentive, and highly responsive to any queries. The cleaning staff were equally commendable—approachable, helpful, and thorough in their duties. The guesthouse is conveniently located in a quiet area of Summerstrand, making it both easily accessible and peaceful. The pool area was well-kept and clean, and the private entrances to the rooms contributed to a comfortable and enjoyable experience. I did not make use of the breakfast offering during my stay. However, despite these positives, I was left somewhat disappointed. The guesthouse website lists several facilities, including DSTV with 50 channels, a clock radio, a steamer, face cloths, and slippers in all rooms. Unfortunately, none of these items were available in my room. While the television does support platforms such as Netflix, YouTube, and DSTV, guests are required to use their own login credentials. Additionally, my stay coincided with load shedding caused by a powerline failure in the Summerstrand area. This significantly impacted the overall experience, as the guesthouse does not appear to have sufficient backup power in place. Although there is a solar and inverter system, it only supported limited lighting and Wi-Fi, with no power available for plug points, televisions, or other essential amenities. Given that this area is frequently affected by power supply challenges, it is surprising that more robust contingency measures have not been implemented. While there are certainly strong points to this establishment, the lack of adequate backup infrastructure would make it difficult to confidently return in the future.

Kingfisher is well situated with easy access to the beach, city and airport. It offers a comfortable stay with friendly and efficient staff.

A booked a room for 2, was told I recieved a upgrade. We'll the carpet is torn, the toilet keeps on running, a TV that a normal person can't operate. For a double room I only recieved one towel and one coffee mug. Been offered my Breakfast refund, I was told rooms get check and all in working conditions for a 4 star establishment very poor customer service I booked out after 3 hours I can not sleep where I am unhappy and paid full money

The accommodation, food, service, surrounding gardens and the staff….especially the staff were beyond excellent. Nikki taking us to all the animals was extra special. We came away (reluctantly) feeling like we had been in a piece of African paradise. 5 stars doesn’t do it justice…More like 50!

The guest house is situated in a convenient, nice location. The staff is absolutely lovely and helpful and the courtyard with the pool looks inviting for summer weather. The rooms look like they were once really nice but they need to be freshened up a bit. Our room smelled musty, there was mold on the curtains and ceiling and there were hairs on our pillows. We walked in the room on white socks and our socks had turned dark grey which means that the carpet is pretty dirty. The bathroom was very clean and comfortable to use.

We stayed here on January 19th and had a first class welcome, the owner / manager is very friendly. This is a very good place to stay in Summerstrand with lovely spacious rooms and an excellent freshly prepared breakfast served in the pleasant breakfast room. There is parking, it is very safe, secure and quiet as well as only being a very short walk to the sea. This is an ideal place to stay especially if you are flying in or out of Port Elizabeth airport. Would happily recommend.

It is a wonderful place with a great room ( Maritime) . Very well appointed and very tastefully decorated. The manager, Fiona, was most pleasant and helpful. It is a great place to relax ( nice walks around) before a long flight. We loved it there.

Great Place We loved our stay. We got an upgrade and Henk give us a lot of information and suggestions about the Town and the restaurants near by. Breakfast has a good variety of foods and drinks. We only spent a night but I wish to have more time there. Thanks for the warm welcome.
