We have stayed here many time because it is a beautiful building in an excellent location. The general staff are outstanding and the food and rooms are amazing. Unfortunately the front desk is just not the same as the rest of the experience. When I wrote in to ask for an early check in I got no reply- on my arrival I asked about this and was told because I got no reply that means it’s fine. I find this odd as I explained that we were arriving after a three part flight over 18 hours. We have stayed here at least 3 other times and my comment for each time would be pretty much the same - I feel the front desk could do better to Mach their rest of the experience.

A beautiful hotel with 130 years of history and in an excellent location. The room is large and beautifully decorated. The staff is great, they are always very friendly and helpful. The service is very good. The breakfast in a large, traditional restaurant is plentiful and good.

Honestly, this is a great hotel and I really enjoyed my stay. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. If you have the option, I’d definitely recommend booking a sea-view room — the view is well worth it and definitely better than the non-sea-view rooms. My only real issue was the Wi-Fi blocking streaming services such as Netflix and DStv. If you don’t want to use your own mobile data, downtime can be a little tough as you’re unable to stream from the room. Other than that, a really good hotel and I’d happily stay here again.
