I would describe this as a hipster hotel with unique character to match the downtown area. My teenage kids did like the room and the adjacent coffee shop. However, I felt the room was a little small, especially the bathroom and the room could use some updating like more amenities like towel racks and storage for suitcases. Our room was not close to being recently remodeled so pictures can be a little deceiving. Bed was comfortable but I could hear people walking around above our room at night. I also struggled with parking found it very stressful trying to find parking, plan to spend around $40 a day on parking a day if you are driving around a lot. The overnight parking which is approx 10-15 minutes away walking distance is not on site and is only $20 a night, but it does not feel safe after 10pm to be walking around due to the homeless problem in the area. I don't think I will be returning to this hotel. I def don't feel like this was a 3 star hotel, I would give it a 2.5 out of 4 or 5 stars. The breakfast was a continental at best. Pastries with juice or coffee and fruit. Sometimes they provided yogurt or boxed oatmeal and oat milk but nothing special and get there before 9 am or there may run out of items. Portland has a lot of fun things to see but because of the homeless problem I would seek out recommendations for the best attractions and stir clear of the problem areas. Washington park and art museum were a lot of fun to visit. Multnomah Falls would be an all day trip and get there very early since parking is terrible or park off site and take tram in. I was also charged an additional fee of $25 a night which was not mentioned anywhere on the trip.com booking receipt.

We felt extremely unsafe as there is not a 24 hour reception which meant anyone could enter the building. A few occasions we saw homeless and intoxicated people walking around the building and using amenities who were clearly not guests of the building.

Kasa staff were super great and helpful. The hotel lobby was very festive and had a cool photobooth. The king suite had its own bathroom (& clawfoot tub!) and a working record player with a curated selection of old & new records. The bed was super comfortable and soft. I would recommend bringing an eye mask if you are sensitive to light as some of the manual lift blinds were tricky to close all the way. I’d definitely stay here again, thank you PDX Kasa!

This hotel is in a perfect location downtown. The room was very hip, which both my husband and I loved. It even had a record player! Layout wise I wish the toilet room was not located right in front of the bed. Only other downside was that there was no hot water. This was not made known when we booked the hotel room nor when we checked in. The hotel did give us a gift card for $46 after I called, but that whole experience put a damper on our trip.

I was a frequent guest at the former Ace Hotel now the Clyde Hotel by Kasa. With the acquisition Kasa, kept the unique barracks inspired furnishing from the unique Ace Hotel but stripped the hotel of all of it's charm. We stayed in the king suite and the room was a bit run down: warm empty mini fridge, broken window shades, dead dried out house plants, loud heater, sub par art added, dirty brochures. The rooms are mostly the same but without the same amenities. No longer are robes offered, no wool blanket, no mini bar, no MALIN+GOETZ soaps, the snack room with complementary coffee, oats, and snacks is also gone. It's bare bones... After the somewhat rude interactions with the front desk staff (who don't want to be bothered) and recognizing that there is no security at the hotel, we will no longer be visiting our once beloved Ace hotel. Homeless folks were easily entering the site and hanging out on the lobby couch and using the hotel's bathroom. The streets are loud at night, wear the supplied ear plugs if you stay here. We did enjoy the Friday night busking saxophonist who performed near Powell Books and was heard from the room - that was an unexpected treat!

We really enjoyed the two beds being across from each other, it made for good conversations while sitting in bed comfortably. The pillows were like clouds and the bed was comfy as well. Also awaiting in our room when we arrived were tokens for the coffee shop that is connected to the hotel. Grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting in the super cute hotel lobby was really relaxing, especially surrounded by gorgeous plants and watching the rain fall down outside. We will definitely stay here again.

While I saw a couple of reviews that mentioned noise, the streets outside of this hotel were quiet during my one might at this hotel (a Wednesday night). I did hear one instance of squealing tires and thought, “Oh no. Here we go.” But my room was extremely quiet after then. Also, the in-room turntable and vinyl records, as well as the tokens for complimentary coffees at the neighboring coffee shop, were very nice touches.

Fantastic Classic. Loved all of the details, water, coffee tokens, noise machine. Just wished the water had been hotter because clawfoot tub!
